Lapdance Olympics Flyers
Here are some flyers I just did for the first annual Lapdance Olympics goin' down out in Detroit this year, they came out pretty good in my opinion, here they are...
And here's a textless version of the second blue flyer, I like how it came out so I saved it as a standalone image... http://hrg.nitetek.com/details.php?image_id=538 More info on the Olympics are at http://thakillaklan.com/bgn/lapdance/ |

The backgrounds are good designs by themselves but throw in the text it it becomes a bit of a mess. Too hard to read the text or even see the background well. Try creating a box on a seperate layer, fill it with white, maybe a gausion blur and set the transparancy to 40-60 percent and lay the text on that to make it all more "readable". You've got two good elements, they just don't go good together.

not a big fan of centered text... maybe you could arrange them into columns to fit a grid that's created by the photos you're laying them over? the backgrounds are great though.

First, the graphics look really good.
However: A few marketing suggestions, if you don't mind. 1. Too many words. You only have a few seconds to get your point across and grab interest. Try making it a little more concise. 2. Certain aspects of the event need to stand out boldly: Who, what, where and when. Make sure that is the most obvious part of the flyer. This info needs to stand out (larger text) and be easy to get from a glance (i.e. grab attention) 3. Use the website for the detailed information. It is an easy to remember website, so people shouldn't have a hard time remembering it. 4. It is a concept that should grab the attention of your target audience, so you can get away with less (way less) information and still get your point across--push the website as the best place to get more info. 5. Watch the font. In advertising you want to use easy to read fonts. The idea being that your audience won't have to work to read the ad--i.e. the word "lapdance olympics" needs to be easier to read. just a few suggestions...... Edit: Looking at it again, you could remove 80-90% of the info and still have a sucessful flyer/ad. "Lapdance Olympics" is enough by itself to get interested parties--a lot of the other info can be cut out and kept on the website. Last edited by KMA-628; 11-12-2004 at 04:56 PM.. |
