What are you getting people for Christmas? (nsfw)

This is kinda going off of the what do you want for Christmas thread. What are you getting for everyone else? I'm having this antique watch my mom inherted from her grandmother put back into working order for her. And for my dad, I think I'm going to get him this Starbuck's gift pack that has 3 bags of coffee and a bunch of chocolate bars in it. He loves both coffee and chocolate, so I figured that'd be a good present. For my best friend, I got her a beautiful blown glass horse when I was in Italy over the summer, since she loves horses and wants to be a vet. I'm not sure about everyone else though. What about all of you ladies?? What are you getting everyone?

Those are good gift ideas

I don't have much money to spend this year, and as it is I have to use my credit cards to buy gifts for the most part. For my parents I'll get them a gift certificate for a resturant. For my older sister I'm getting her a sweater she wanted and a DVD. For my younger sister I'll get her the Reba DVD set that she asked for. I'll get my Grandma a nightgown. My niece is getting 2 Dora the Explorer DVD's.

Everything but the gift certificates are coming from Amazon. Nice discounts there!

Oh... and my boyfriend. Well, I've bought his gifts already, but he posts here and he follows me around so I can't mention what I got for him

For people I work with and casual aquaintences, they are getting some homemade coffee mixes (either mocha spice, hot cocoa, cappuccino, maybe a few others) those will go into a small basket with some chocolate dipped spoons. ( I think the baskets may cost all of 3 or 4 dollars a piece completely assembled, but folks love 'em/

My sister is getting a bunch of scrapbooking stuff.
Brother in law is getting a home depot gift certificate and a civil war book
My brother, the musician, is getting a very cool neon electric guitar lamp.
My sister in law (brother's wife) is getting a lovely pashmina that I got at an amazing price.
Dad - bathrobe and a bunch of cds
MOm is getting this: Story of a Lifetme
and a sweater or two

The brats:
My 7 year old niece I compiled a fanstastic arts and crafts kit -- she loves to color -- this has crayons, colored pencils, twister crayons, stencils, coloring books, contruction paper... a bunch of stuff all in a big box
The 11 year old nephew is getting a bunch of piano books (His request)
The 12 year old niece is getting an auntie day (her request) she is getting a gift certificate from Limited Too, and a day spent iwth me to shop, including lunch.
The 10 year old nephew, I'm stumped on.

My best friend I made this beautiful amethyst necklace -- It's wrapped, otherwise I'd take a picture, but it's beautiful and so very unique. If I have time , she'll get earrings too, cause I have enough stones left, otherwise it's for her birthday.

I'm volunteering this weekend at a Barnes and Noble, so I will get a discount while I do that, and books will fill in a bunch of stuff.

Damn I spent entirely too much money - but I like giving gifts to people.

This year I'm too broke to buy gifts (especially cuz of moving into a house soon), so I'm probably going to make up gift certificates for massages and put my training to use

For my daughter: A personal DVD player, a new comforter for her bed, make-up, a hair iron, (maybe) the third Lemony Snicket book, a wallet, and some cute throw pillows to match her new comforter.

My husband: New jeans, long sleeve shirts, a second controller for his X Box, the game Fable, underwear, (I'll model them for you guys ) and socks.

For my brother in law: (The entire family draws names and we each pick one adult and one child) A cool Las Vegas lamp for his "guy" room. He and his wife were married there, it's cool!

My nephew: Baby stuff... He's a baby.

I already sent my sister a painting I did for her.

Ace -> can't post what i'm getting him in here because he might read it? I never know with him... for those of you who aren't so sure on things between Ace and i and haven't asked or whatever, he's my best friend. We were together for about 3 years but no more... and i live next door. It's a true saga i know *rolls eyes* Every year i go balls out for him anyway, he gets spoiled

My new guy-> not quite sure yet! It's been a month since we've been together, he's an absolute gem! I have zero idea what to get him... well not true, i have a few, but none seem quite perfect enough yet *harumph

Parents -> absolutely NO focking idea

Siblings -> youngest brother is getting a PS2 game he wants and a starbucks g/c because its a thing between us. the slightly older younger brother is getting a new hat, probably a sweater or something and a dvd.

I do secret santa's with my best friends (5 of us) and the girl i got has a bday on the 27th, so i'm putting together a care package, soley for sexual purposes *chuckle* It will have new lingerie, comfy pj's, massage oil, vibrator, handcuffs or scarves or both?, book of positions etc. You get the idea. She'll absolutely love it!

I also make Christmas ornaments for friends and extended families. This year i'm making glass ornaments, hand painted with ribbons etc, i'll post pics when they're finished. I also hand out home made chocolates, candied nuts and various baked goods.

I get all Martha Fucking Stewart-y too. Like tonight, I have just made 5 or 6 cards compleatly by hand. I'm also going to be making some little gifts for some of the girls in my dorm, probably bath salts and lip balm with cookies or something like that...like I said, Martha Stewart. People appreciate it though.

My mom is getting a DVD/ VCR combo thingee for the living room.
My dad is getting a new Hakama.
My bro is probably getting some candles or something. He lives way far away so I can't get him anything that's gonna cost me an arm and a leg to ship.
Boyfriend is getting some clothes I think. Unless he asks for something specific I'm going to buy him some nice dressy clothes. He's been wearing the same green (ack!) slacks everywhere for years now... men....
For random people, most are just getting cards, but I'll probably do gift cards to my work for the people I like

good thread, thx for starting it

I'll just barely have money to buy a few things for a few people ...

- bf's mom ->

- bf's dad ->
(if I can find it, and in German. Out of print, will be a bit of a challenge).

We will probably also do for them what we did last year - download a bunch of music cd's, and, well, make them into music cd's

- bf - nfi really (and he knows where to find me, so I probably wouldn't post it anyways).

- cats - will get some more furry mice, and some catnip.

I want to do some 'Martha Stewart-y' things as well, I jsut don't know what, and what for who, yet.

My parents....will just get nice eCards (as that's all that will work out financially/logistically)

If they are coffee drinkers:

Cappuccino Mocha Mix
Makes 2 1/2 cups of mix
6 heaping tablespoons of instant espresso
3 heaping tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1 1/4 cups powdered nondairy creamer
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tbs ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

In a blender, combine espresso coffee powder, cocoa, nondairy creamer, sugar and cinnamon.

Now here's where Martha comes in -- take a clean glass jar and dump the mixture in it - -making a pretty cover for the lid, or dump into small single serve plastic bags with a label on it.

For the gift label: For each cup of cappuccino, measure 3 tablespoons of mixture into a coffee mug and stir in 8 oz of boiling water. Enjoy!

You could add on some peppermints, or something creative...

----------
Simply the Best Hot Cocoa

3 cups instant nonfat dry milk
1 bag chocolate baking chips (use semi-sweet, milk chocolate, white chocolate, mint chocolate, whatever works for you (the book I got this out of years ago, also suggested using peanut butter or butterscotch, that didn't sound quite so good to me)
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows (optional)

Put half of the dry milk in a blender or food processor, add half the chips, and whirl until finely ground. Do not continue mixing after finely ground or the mixture may clump. Pour mixture into a bowl and repeat to grind remaining milk and chips. Stir in marshmallows.

Spoon into a jar and cover tightly. Can be stored airtight for up to 6 months

For the gift label: For each serving, place 3 heaping tablespoons) of mix into a mug and add 6 ounces boiling water and stir until well combined.

You can get really creative with gifts like this - I have a bunch more recipes like this -- that I've used as gifts over the years - including various spice mixtures - it's kind of a fun easy way to be creative...

^mal - keep in mind I do *not* live in the US..so 1. not all ingred's are avail here .. and 2. this time of year I've not the patience to convert to euro measures.
(although the homemade cappucino is a good idea, i know they're also very picky, and don't do real sugar in their cappucino).

oh, and I don't have a blender....they are avail here, just never need one (maybe by next summer i'll buy one for drinks, as I should be able to afford a nice liquour stock by then )
