Spotting Problems
Alright, well, on about the 23rd of November I started spotting. It was a light brown color, which I am used to when I am going to be starting. But it was not usual because my 28th day for my menstration cycle to start was yesterday (the 1st) so I was way early to be even starting.
Well, it has been doing that since the 23rd, so that would make today the 11th day. Its been brown to very dark brown and there is only alot every once in a while. There was a couple times it was red, and I thought I was going to finally start, but then it would go back to being brown. I am just getting worried that something might be wrong and I don't have insurance or the money to be going to the docters to find out its nothing, thats why I am trying to see if anyone else had had this problem before. I took a pregnancy test on November 28th and it said I wasn't pregnant so I know its not that. I do usually have the Nuva Ring (birth control) but seeing as I couldn't afford it, I had to get off of it for awhile. I was off of it for almost a month before the spotting started.

It could very possibly be due to a change in hormones. It's fairly common to have spotting as a result of any stress, change in birth control method, etc. This only from my past personal experiences and those of many women friends experiences over the years.
But then again, you don't know. It's always best to get checked professionally if there's any doubt. It's better to spend the $100 (I have no clue what regular fees are these days are!) than not to know and be stressing, not to mention possible repercussions of letting a potential problem go.

I bet it is your body’s way of adjusting to the loss of birth control. Certain methods can take up to six month before you will resume a normal cycle and your body can get back to normal. I suggest you call Planned Parenthood or Google "sliding fee clinics" in your area. There are many clinics out there that will see you for $25.
I know you took a preg test and it said no but it is possible you had a miscarriage and your body is expelling the embryo. However I am more inclined to lean toward my first explanation. Good luck.

Get thee to a Planned Parenthood at once! PP charges on a sliding scale. Plus, they're friendly and will load you up with condoms. Similarly, many counties run sliding scale health clinics that provide similar services to the ones Planned Parenthood provides.
It's the loss of hormones screwing with your cycle, most likely. Bleeding like this is very common as your body readjusts to a cycle without the presence of outside hormones. Have you been using a barrier method while going without the NuvaRing? If not, you should be. Have you been sexually active at all during that time? If you have, you really ought to see about getting back on BC as soon as possible. Double up or you're asking for trouble. I understand the NuvaRing is expensive--but there are much cheaper methods out there. The traditional birth control pill is much cheaper, especially if you get a generic form. Furthermore, going down the Planned Parenthood path is a good choice, as they generally try to get you the cheapest option possible. However, I warn you now that prices have gone up in some locations due to unforeseen fallout from the Deficit Reduction Act. I am lucky enough to live in a part of the country where my family planning needs are paid for by the state through a nifty little program called the Family Planning Project. I would urge you to see if your state has anything similar. I get the NuvaRing free because of it. In the meantime, though, I wouldn't worry about it. As someone who's switched between more than a few methods of BC and has gone off of BC a couple of times, this is pretty normal.

Listen to Snowy. She is wise. And most likely correct, as well. Planned Parenthood is your friend, trust us. I've been without health insurance, but never without birth control thanks to them.

Personally I wouldn't believe a neg pregnancy test.
I had one of those when I was pregnant with my daughter! Also I know a lot of women who were preggo and didn't even get a positive until they were 6 weeks or more along. The only sure way to no you are not is a blood test. |

True, blood tests are most reliable - but usually, the reason people get false results with a pee stick test is misuse, or taking it too early (most of them won't be reliable until you're at least 4 weeks late).

I have had some spotting too, it started a few months ago. I would always be very regular but Due to a lot of stress lately I have been spotting a week before my period starts. I am not sure if it is due to the tress but that is the only thing I can come up with.
