At-Home Facial Peel?
Hey girls...just curious about anyone who has done an at-home facial peel.
I have a lot of acne scars and it really bothers me, I'm tired of having to put on foundation all the time. I've tried the home micro-dermabrasion from neautrogena. I also tried their subtle facial peel stuff and didnt' see much results. I have a lot of blackheads but not so much really big zits. And I realize many people are going to say, GO TO A PROFESSIONAL! like many of you always do, but again I'm a college student. My mother thinks going to salons to have those things done are vain and will not pay for it. She also said she hated my hair dyed. She's just a very old fashioned lady. I'm just wondering if there are any facial treatments out there that would have a more profound effect than any of the neautrogena things I've tried over an extended period of time. |

I think it sounds like a dangerous thing to do...abrasive chemical products on your face...alone at home...if something goes worng, you don't know what to do...The money you'll save isn't worth it...so
Go see a professional It's nothing to do with vain, it's do with getting things done properly and safely, in as little time as possible. Also, by the way, I have seen several photos of you and you are beautiful...you really don't need a facial peel at all...seriously.

Are you still having problems with the acne? I know that acne scars are annoying as hell (I have those and a patch of skin on my face that's been discolored from cold sore scarring, too). However, if you're still having breakouts, the microdermabrasion is actually going to make it worse-- it'll spread around the bacteria and just make a mess of your precious face. What skin care products are you using on a daily basis?

I use L'Oreal's Glycol peel and I love what it does. But it's more for exfoliating and unclogging my gigantimongous pores. The peeling isn't like those from a professional treatment, it's more subtle and a little rubbing in the shower takes care of that.
I bought an acne-scar 3step treatment at CVS for my kids and, used regularly, their skin doesn't get those red pockmarks. Once my son 'forgets', though, they come back. (Then again, they are only 15 1/2, so acne is a constant problem). I don't recall the name(I'm at work), but it's in orange and white bottles and in the acne treatments aisle at CVS. |
