Welcome!
More or less yeah, that's it, but membership doesn't thrive on post count alone. Check out this forum: Tilted Newbies and an excerpt from a the sticky: Quote:

HI,
Well first off welcome to the forums. This thread will most likely be moved to tilted newbies, but that is why the tilted newbie board is here for. Yes you will need to keep posting BUT that does not mean you are guaranteed to one day have access to all the boards. When you post remember that you are a part of a community. Think of each board as a wealth of information and support for you to utilize and share. If you just keep posting " great post" or I "agree" etc.. you will wind up missing out on a lot and will not really have benefited from the community. Find a few forums that you really like, ones that spark your interest and you will find others who have things in common with you and you may find yourself having fun. Having fun is in my opinion the sure fire way to lose your "newbie status".

It is not about post counts - membership basically requires contribution - not a specific number of posts.

If you contribute on a regular basis..you'll lose that tag before you know it. Around here there really isn't much focus on the tags. What I mean by that is we don't hold rookies in a lower regard than anyone else, as long as you are contributing meaningful posts and following the charter.

# MEMBERSHIP ADVANCEMENT AND FEATURES 1. Member participation is strongly encouraged and rewarded, though we insist that you make your contribution to the TFP as meaningful as possible. Please do not post frivolously to achieve status. Our economy does not run on post counts. 2. 250 worthwhile posts will earn you a custom avatar. 500 worthwhile posts will earn you a custom title. That's all you can gain by posting in volume. 3. The TFP has many private forums that are not accessible to new users. They are more private, sensitive and community oriented in nature and so we have a very strict screening process to gain access to them. 4. After a brief probation period, users are reviewed by our moderators to determine if they are mature enough to participate in the private forums. 5. Infractions of TFP policy will hinder your review and may indefinately postpone it. if you have any more questions click the link in the last part of my sig or pm me |

I finally lost my rookie status. I have to say that losing access to the errogenous zone has totally opened up my eyes as far as how great the different forums are. I went from posting solely in the Titty board to posting in the Motors, gaming, nonsense, sports, music, and sexuality forums. I'm actually enjoying the tfp more now than i did before.

I just moved from Rookie to Tilted (not sure exactly when, but it was in the last day or so). Now what? Can you get into chat rooms or something now that you're not a rookie? I guess my question is "What should I notice as different?" because as of now, I don't see anything as has changed.

Moving strictly from Rookie to Tilted doesn't necessarly grant you anything special. Just a new title
As far as the chat room, anyone can join that. I think the specifications on that are in the General Discussion forum. I haven't been in ages myself. When you become a "full member" you'll see new forums such as Members Playground and Tilted Exhibition. Cool stuff like that

Please read the policy link in my sig.
your user titles are affected by your post count. So, if you're associating noob w/rookie, that's how that works. Status is based on rank (for potentiality) and quality (in actuality). Are we clear now?

In short....yes. Many are raised in status "Early" due to excellent contribution to the community.

Thanks for all the info in this thread! It helped me to get an understanding of the way this site works! I would love to drop my 'Rookie' status but have enjoyed the past few days just reading what's going on in all the boards and posting where I feel I had something to add! Before I knew it I had posted twenty something posts so I agree that just getting on with it is the best method!
