I'm a farker... it's an addicting distraction, an alright source for breaking or obscure news. However, after lurking a while on both sites I think that the TFP boards are far better, and so.. here I am.

I came here the first time when Hal first submitted the Titty Board to Fark back in January of 2002 and have been here ever since. I use Fark for news articles, but I never set up an account there and based on the threads I ever read, I have no desire to. If I'm going to talk, I'm going to talk in a place where people actually say something and have worthwhile discussions instead of insulting each other and running any and ever cliche into the ground immediately.

I visit Fark all the time... and am very rarely moved to post anything there. It's a classic vent forum, where nobody listens to anyone else and everybody is just trying to show how superior they are and how stupid everyone else is...
That's the outside... have no idea what Totalfark is like. But I still keep it as one of my homepage tabs. I love the news articles, the headlines and the photoshop contests.

Fark is the reason I discovered this board.

I have to say that the quality of the posts in Fark have really degenerated. It is all p'owned, and I'd hit it and juvenile boy humor. As a female, I have gotten VERY tired of that and have spent less and less time there. Sad because it used to be a good community.

I originally got here through fark and it's link to TB. However the blessing came when they shut it down to lurkers and I was forced to start looking at the other spots here. There's so much to discuss here and people are pretty friendly, so it makes for a very pleasant place to be.
I used to be a chat junky (mainly one room, like most chat addicts) and then have moved to message boards. I dial in at Chris Creamer's Sports Logo board, theperfectgame.net (formerly highheat2004.net), the San Diego Padres board and occasionally the christianforums.com. Mainly surf Fark, digg, collegehumor, worth1000 and ifilm. Great mix of stuff there and by the time i'm done with those and the boards, I'm done with the net for the day and ready to return to regular life. |

I found this site through FARK, but I don't like the format over there. 300+ posts on one continuous page is maddening. Plus the whole "TotalFarker" vs. "Regular Farker" thing is lame. Wow, you're so much better because you pay $5/month. Good for you, now shut up.
