Oh good! Greetings! I think you made a good introduction. There are a number of friends of Bill W. here. Welcome to our space. |

Welome :-) |
I have no idea what to put in intro posts, so I guess this is going to end up a massive ramble. But, nothing wrong with rambling, right?
I'm studying to become a Lactation Consultant, and I'm about half a semester in. I'm a recovering anorexic, but I haven't relapsed in 3 months, so yay! I make corsets and skirts during my spare time and I also like to knit. Don't know what else to put, so I guess that's good, :p. |
Good luck to you in your recovery. :)

Hi new folks!
|
Hello all,
I first found this place because I'm sort of an infomaniac. Every time a new topic or debate caught my interest I noticed that all my searches tended to lead back here. This seems like one of the most eclectic, open-minded communities out there and I figured I'd dive right in. |
welcome pancakesalad. great to have you here.
the best way to get involved is to just do as you say. dive right in. have fun looking around and contributing to TFP! |

Hi pancakesalad!

Konstantinos Eudes Thrakum.
Was (sadly) one of the founders of dissident philosophy, a site that utterly went off the tracks shortly after its foundation due to slack by the admins. Now I am here. Greetings! |
Hi Thrakum! We're glad you're here! We've had a few folks from DF roll through here, but it's been a fix of very good and outright delusional. Given that you're a founder, though, I hope for the best! We're glad you've found us!
|
Thanks for the welcome guys!

I have just now returned from fickr'ing 'pencak silat', and while I'm not entirely sure what it is, it's not looking edible; more like, very ceremonial.
So, in that light, a ceremonial welcome to you, new member. Greetings & salutations, man. |
Hello everyone. I am an old member returning from a 4-5 year hiatus. I posted in here a good bit back in 2004-05. I was just missing the ol' forum chatter, so here I am.
|
Pancake Salad! That sounds like something I'd ask! my most recent question was to confirm whether my friends were in fact talking about Sushi and Peeps chicks in the same sentence. For once.. turns out my ears heard them correctly!
And welcome back Taylored! We're happy to have you here again! |

Hello
Hello,
55yo newbie male here from Atlanta, GA. Not sure what to post, but I am enjoying the site and just finding my way around. Thanks, Tom |
new guy
Here I am posting an introduction
I'm here to learn a little more than what interpersonal conversation usually presents. Sometimes my friends get annoyed when I continually say "go on, go on, go on...". I'll just read a lot and occasionally comment when I have something to say. Thanks |
hey all, newbie in da house,my name is jeremy and i'm from burleson,texas/usa...

Howdy All, It is about time I said Hey, from sunny warm Arizona. Well not so warm 15 F it is like an ice age out there; next thing I know they will be telling me it will snow. It not even going to get into the 50's, gotta dig out the artic gear! Brrr!!! Well the big dog does not seem to mind. Found my way here through a google search. Looks like I have some exploring to do.
|
Wow! Quite a few new folks chiming in today! Welcome to all of you!
We are glad to have you here :) |

|
HEY

|
Welcome Mountain Man!
If you do manage to meet most TFP'ers I would be thoroughly impressed.. we do have quite a lot of registered members! Those who post regularly is a different story. The best way to meet us is to keep posting yourself! |
I just found the place for the cool kid introductions
Well Hello, I've been coming here on and off for years but i mostly just hung around and didn't post much. This place seems to be just as poppy since last i came, but i hope to be a bit more active. Guess i'll see yall round. BTW a TFPing from TX! HEEHAW! |
Hey strangers, of the big bad web...
I'm Lisa Marie, 23, Welsh Chick living in England. Etc etc. I'm sure you'll learn more as I post or if you make the effort to find out. No matter where I go on the web, it seems the majority of users on the boards struggle to string sentences together and have nothing of value to say. I want to talk about more than shit like, 'would you rather shage a fat or skinny person?'. I just don't care about that sort of stuff enough to make threads dedicated to the topics or to dignify them with a response. I've failed to find forums I can stick to like an unhealthy addiction. From browsing here though, I'm hoping it's different. I've got a feeling in my stomach that says it might be what I'm looking for. Don't disappoint if you can help it. So yeah, hey, sup? |
Hi greenisthename. I think you'll fit right in here. We do have our share of "fat vs. skinny" but when we do, there's usually more than a 2 word answer. We like to ask "why?"
Nice to meet you. |
Hey the_jazz... if that's even your real name ;)
I just got tired of it you know? The way those particular posts would dominate the entire forum, it just wasn't terribly inviting or particularly engaging. I need a good dose of mental stimulation, and I wasn't getting it. I'm game for a laugh as much as the next person, but I've been a member of many forums in the past and every other post is 'would you fuck a midget?', and there's never any discussion of the slightest bit of intellect. You can be funny without being brain dead about it. Nice to meet you too, thanks for the welcome. |
Welcome, Green. It's good to have a new face that is interested in joining in the conversation. Looking forward to hearing what you have to say. If there's a topic you're itching to discuss, feel free to start a new thread - we're always looking to see a new perspective.
|
Cheers for that genuinegirly, I look forward to joining in on the discussions here and no doubt I'll start my own. Always got plenty to say. And I like a good debate. Sprinkle that with a dose of sarcasm and humor and away we go.
|
Hey!
Long time lurker, first time poster. Looking forward to becoming part of the community!
|
Glad to see you finally come out of your shell, papawillie!
|
welcome to the new folks! Glad to have you here!
|
part of many forums but this is my first introduction post
In a way I'm hoping it will be the start of a new habit :) Howdy! I'm so glad there are places like this for people to come and share a collective knowledge and perspective. I look forward reading all kinds threads here, those that came and will come to be.

Hello Everyone
Hello everyone, my name is OLd-Man just a nick name that was given to me a long time ago. Anyway I am real excited about getting my first hand gun. Been a hunter for many years. I am disable now so I can't hunt no more but I can still go to a range and pratice and have some fun. :) Been doing some reading in here and a few post really caught my eye and I have a few newbe questions.
Thanks Mike |
Hi Leery, Hi OLd-Man!
|
Hello everyone. I'm 25 y/o male from MD, I enjoy traveling and meeting new people. I'm going to be in Singapore in May, feel free to give me tips or hints on places I should go to/visit.
Have a great day/night and thanks for reading! |
Hey all old people and new people. I use to be here all the times and then a UFO abducted me until last June when I posted once and... well... this time it wasn't UFOs but it was something else... ahh, a quick fix to a broken marriage.
Anyhow I am here and I am going to try and be a TFP'r again. It is hard for me to focus on forums since those UFOs took me to imagination land (Butters was still there, poor kid; I'm sure he'll be grounded). I do intend to become more involved, however, and if I don't I shall vanish forever. For those who remember me I have not changed except my health has improved, however ironically enough at the time, I'm sick as shit with fever. It will pass. For those who do not know me I'm a bad ass crippled ninja/gigolo from the home of Derp, Mississippi. The town is actually Hattiesburg but the Derp is by far Mississippi. so like. hi and stuff |
^ we did have some fun in mIRC chat, didn't we...
glad you're back and well; now kick some ass... |
Hi I'm Zeraph and I'm an --holic. Of some kind or another. Who knows. Based on the day. I'm fairly nice and respectful unless you're being a douche bag.

My Intro
Hi, I have never participated in a site like this one. Happy to meet you,but a little unsure of what to expect.
:wave::wave: |
Hello mahalo! Expect a lot of fun!
|
Intro
I figured I would drop a line here and say hello...as to I hate doing intro but yet know its the right thing to do!
I am not sane nor insane I am not nice nor mean I am not happy nor am I sad I don't live for the moment I live for the second as the next is uncertain I don't allow to be built up and then torn down. I build one up and stride on keeping it going... I am me and thats who I am..I am a very strange mystery at times I have no clue who I identify with of if I identify with anyone. |

|
hello!
Hi, I'm TigerBlood! Some things about me:
I'm introverted. I'm a big fan of ST:TNG, especially Data. I am currently reading Dune, and wish I had Voice powers. My cat, Mr. Whiskers is my best friend. I think Charlie Sheen is hilarious. I like to dabble in art, currently linocutting. |
welcome tigerblood!
you do know that charlie wasnt exactly saying that he drinks REAL tiger blood right? i think he's hilarious too..and weird. gone are the days of Hotshots |
Hi, I'm HandmeDown. Drifting the web and this place looked inviting, perhaps enlightening.
|
Well Let's See Here.....
I caught this as the result of looking into a specialized piece of audio gear and saw a few less than qualified answers to the effect that it's snake oil.
Then I noticed the humanity, philosophical, and sexuality based aspect and figured I could have some fun here. I'm a student of humanity in terms of psychology. I promised to tell a story about my Uncle Dick on the other thread so I will. My Uncle Dick has the best stereo system in the world, bar none it is the best. Now inevitably there would be a few dozen people that would argue the point, but if they don't know Dick how can they? And that's the problem, every time someone goes to talk about a question someone asks too many people that don't know Dick jump in with irrelevant and ignorant opinions. So my advice in terms of specific questions are simple, if you don't know Dick, shutup. I ask generally intelligent questions when I'm around those who seem to know what they are talking about, I offer advice on the things I am knowledgeable about, and I watch and listen when I don't know what I'm talking about. |
Hello all! I live in Hawaii, and will only be doing that until the end of the summer, when I'll be going back to school. On my way out of the Navy right now. I've been lurking these forums for literally years, since I saw fark.com's link to the Titty Board and got distracted by the rest of the boards that actually have content.
Side note: the "Introduce yourself here!" link at the top of newbie's forum pages gives you a link the the old, closed thread. Whoever is in control around here...can you fix it? This will be the first forum I've ever joined, so it should be an interesting experience. I'll demystify a few things right up front: My profile picture is a view out my back door, and "Iron Saint" is a reference to the USS Santa Fe (Fe = atomic symbol for Iron, Santa = saint), the submarine I was assigned to in the Navy. And Mahalo....I assume you're from Hawaii too. Hello! |
Hi IronSaint.
Welcome! Thanks for the heads up. It's being looked at now. |
Hey ppl
|
Hey everyone, I found this site searching Google to see if you could refill a Bic lighter (you can, not worth the effort) and was intrigued by the banter in the thread I read, and the forums in general. I've been a forum member before, but this is the first one I can really see myself sticking around in. Looking forward to getting involved in discussions and having some fun!

A Day in the life!
Greetings to all. I am known as Skidder 51. There are times after a hard days work, I feel I need to unwind by posting things of interest, at least to me and hopefully others. Many times, I just want to listen in on a thread or topic that I may have little knowledge of and learn something.
Being a new person on here, I hope to interact and maybe have a laugh or two and meet some interesting people. So with that being said, let me throw something out there. I have been interviewing people for a sales position in my company. I have met and spolken to some very interesting candidates. some are exceedingly intelligent. Some carry a great deal of baggage. Then there are those that should be looking at another avenue for employment. My frustration is with the younger candidates. On paper and electronically, they are extremely brilliant. Unbelievable. Where I see many of them coming up short is people skills. I guess to say, the lack of them. I am disappointed in having intelligent, meaningful conversations. I recently attended a family function where my sisters and their families were all together in celebration of my Mom's 80th birthday. Most of the teenagers and kids intheir early 20's sat or stood around texting. Texting, texting and still more texting. Conversations between us were very cordial but very short and honestly, little interaction. I thought back to my youth and saw a big difference in conversations we would have with older family members. Night and day. This got me thinking during this interviewing process, that this is a problem with this present generation. I would love to be wrong. I see with all the gains we have made in the computer generation, we have lost the need to verbally carry on conversations with each other except for text, facebook, and e-mails. Just throwing this out there. I appreciate hearing from some of you to hear other views and make sure I am not forming a prejudice. Thanks to all ahead of time for feedback.:shakehead: |
Salutations. I stumbled on this forum while looking for fellow insomniacs, and then found myself interested in the range of topics listed. It's been a long time since I've been part of a decent forum, but the tiny thread of hope is still there.
I'll try not to be a veritable 'post-splosion'. I tend to be a bit..intense, if I get interested. |
Welcome, we were all new once. You'll like it here.
|
Sup' Everyone ;)
Good to be here...I've been interested in joining a good forum for great discussions and to network. I'm lookin forward to you all and everyones ideas, experiences, and advice. Thanx, take care!

Hello, I am not sure exactly where to begin. So I'll just start off with a friendly greeting and go from there. Hope to get answers to questions that have been nagging at me for a long time.
|
Hello there. I came across this site via a Google search, and rather than wandering off once my queries had been answered, I've been reading various threads on this forum and have been impressed by the intelligent and open-minded discussion. I'm a shy sort, but regardless, am very intrigued by the topics discussed here.
