First Dumb Move of 2005
In line the other day at Tim Hortons (a coffee shop for you non-Canucks) in my school I notice this drop dead gorgeous platinum blonde. So just as I'm paying I turn to my friend and say, "Hey don't you think that blonde looks like a pornstar?". We both have a good laugh and as we pass down the hallway which seperates the Tim Hortons by glass I see the girl staring at me with her jaw dropped. We laugh again (me a bit red in the face) and I saw a couple friends ahead talking to some girl. I thought I'd share the somewhat comical experience with the one that wasn't talking to the girl. After telling him about it and pointing out the "pornstar" and asking him if calling a girl that is a compliment or not he points out the girl they were talking to (who's been listening to my convo) was actually the "pornstars" friend. I walked away as fast as I could and that was my first big jack ass moment of 2005.
What have you done to embarass yourself in the new year? |

I was doing some cleaning because my parents decided that the entire house needed to be refloored. So I'm taking boxes and whatnot out of my room, and I was on my way to carrying a box full of magazines to the garage when I lost my grip on the box and it slips out of my hands. My mom was walking by as the box hits the floor. And sure enough, despite not having looked through or even seen them in over a year, every issue of Playboy that I had a subscription to back when I first turned 18 spilled onto the floor and conventiently rested on top of every other, tamer and more acceptable magazine. Awkward silence followed by awkward clean up and awkward slowly walking away. In retrospect, it was hilarious despite stupid and embarrassing.

I went through the drive through at the local Burger King. When I got to the window and was given my total and it seemed high. I asked the person working if it was right as my math put it about $5 cheaper. She said yes and gave me a copy of the receipt. I quickly added it up and found that my "value" meal cost almost $8. She got the manager who looked at the receipt and told me it was right. I went off on him and told him his value meal wasn't a value and that they were ripping people off. I was hungry and on a schedule so I paid my bill, took my food and left. After I got home I pulled out the receipt and did the math again to see how much I was really out. I guess my original math was a little off. I accidentally added everything and missed the part where some of the items had the - sign before it. Now my $8 value meal actually cost me about $5.50 (which was right for what I ordered). Good thing the Burger King here is closing to I don't have to go back.
