Sports Injury
Well, I've always heard about the major league players getting groin injury and I always thought that was just a simple issue of discomfort in the "no no area" but I've had a taste of it after playing baseball over the weekend.
Groin injury, feels like somebody stepped on my balls. To get rid of it, my Dad suggested that walking around and work it off would help and it did helped. It's still there, only that the foot's off if you get my meaning... What other sports injury do you have and what do you do to help it?

Tennis elbow from softball. Ice + TE brace when playing and switching to the other hand (wink wink).
Patella Femoral (Don't know spelling, basically means my kneecap doesn't stay in position). Lost weight, did knee excersizes, stopped running except during baseball games. Groin tweak. I tweak my groin occasionally playng hockey. I ice it and stretch religiously when I have problems.

This is my long list of injuries (keep in mind I'm barely 21)
Herniated disk in my spine... required back surgery. Was doing squats (315lbs), two freshmen were fucking around and one pushed the other into me. Blown knee. Rushing in in football, guy cut me from the side, tore the tendons/ligaments on the side, should have had surgery but was a retard and wore a sleeve (can still bend it sideways..) Injured neck vertibrae, football they intercepted... 70yard split between the two of us... lots and lots of force behind us at that point... made it on the news for hit of the month. Broke his hip, my neck hasnt been as flexible since then. Dislocated shoulder. Wrestling in state championship, did a move but ended up not going right... was a retard and told the coach to pop it back in.. still lost. 3 concussions from football/wrestling. Broke 3 fingers in football. over a dozen torn/pulled muscles. I could go on but you get the point... god I'm going to be decrepid when I get older. |

I also have that Patella Femoral disease in my knees, from soccer. As well, I have Osgood - Shlater or something like that in my knees as well. Damn running from the age of 8 just kills you.
I've broken 6 fingers playing goalie in soccer, my elbows can dislocate on their own from throwing, I broke my foot skateboarding, and broke my nose twice wrestling. Yes, I used to wrestle. Shut up. Wrestling was fun. |

my worst are shoulders. I wrecked up my right socket doing a headlong into the end boards playing hockey. I count myself really lucky because if I hadn't hit shoulder first... I'd be paralized. It still sucks since any time I move it it pops loud enough to be heard in neighboring cities.
Both a/c joints have been separated numerous times playing rugby as well as nearly turning my brain to pancake batter. Other than that, I'm healthy as a horse (at the glue factory) but I can't complain

(2) sprained ankles in highschool - I did a lot of physical therapy and streatches to ensure it wouldn't happen again. You know what? It hasn't. I have strong flxible ankles. rooty toot.
Various concussions and neck/back injuries from martial arts and skiing - I do physical therapy every morning, and stretch most nights to keep the neck stable, the back flexible and to manage the pain. Betcha didn't know I am in pain 100% of the time, didja?

Football definitely left its mark on me.
In highschool, I tore a hole in my rotator cuff and cracked two knuckles. To this day I can't toss a football around too long without my shoulder getting really sore. In Junior football after highschool I really did some damage. First game I got chopped square on the front of my knee. Bad hyperextension which stretched all the ligaments in my knee and left me with a lot of cartiledge (sp?) floating around. Surgery wasn't an option as I didn't actually tear the ligaments, so I did a little physio and now I wear a brace with metal supports whenever I'm working out. Silly young football player that I was, I only missed one game. I wrecked my neck as well, stretched the muscle between my neck and shoulder to about 4 times its intended purpose. This is all according to our trainer as I never bothered to see a doctor about it. Dislocated a hip too, which was amazingly painful until I stomped it back into place. I blame a lot of this on the crap quality of junior football as I took a lot of shots I wouldn't have had to if I had some decent players around me. In University, playing on a proper team with proper coaching, I didn't do anything too terrible to my body. Type 1 (I think) hyperextension in my right shoulder but that wasn't a big deal. Basically my body is a bit of a mess and is really gonna get me back when I hit mid age. Nothing I can't walk off though. SLM3 |
