Sometimes I can't go to sleep at night because my back aches so badly. Hmm....remembering things I thought were cool like ten years ago....Being with my boyfriend and feeling married when we go to a restaurant with friends for a birthday party.

absorbentishe 05-25-2004 09:36 AM

Other than the bones creeking thing, loosing hair thing, here goes. I've taught gymnastics for about 13 years, and kids that I taugh when they were 3 - 10 are now much older. Seeing some graduate from HS makes me feel old.

Tinker 05-25-2004 09:43 AM

Talking to a teenager that did not know who Pink Floyd was, nor had never heard "The Wall"
Enrolling my son in High School!
Certain parental words escape my mouth like..
'because I said so"....

shalafi 05-25-2004 12:12 PM

A couple months ago I was trying to sleep but in one of the apartments behind me they were drunk and being loud and just having a good time. I looked at the clock and grumbled somthing about "what the hells the matter with them? dont they realize its midnight?" about 5 seconds later i sat bolt upright in my bed and just shook my head. I couldn't believe i had just said that.

Hearing Guns n Roses on the "classic" rock station doesnt help either.

CinnamonGirl 05-25-2004 01:12 PM

Yeek, another one. I was talking to my 15 year old cousin the other day...and she has NO IDEA who Journey is.

*hangs head in shame*

ruggerp11 05-25-2004 02:10 PM

Graduating from College :(

having the kid I baby sat be taller than me.

A lot of things.

glasscutter43 05-25-2004 05:00 PM

Realizing that my boots and my bong are older than most of the people here.

Needing new glasses or longer arms.

Knowing the answer to a Three Dog Night trivia question on the radio.

Remembering the Beatles on Ed Sullivan.

My piece of shit truck... that I bought new.

I could go on but, it's nap time...

I like the summer interns :D

But what really gets me is this trendy 80's thing that's coming back. YIKES!! Why oh why are the 80's cool all of a sudden??!! They weren't cool, they were anti-cool

EDIT: The 80's were actually scary

I am with ya on that one -- and can also no longer read menus in darkened restaurants. When did my arms shrink?

Looking in the mirror and seeing someone 70 looking back...
Taking my wife on a trip this weekend for our 32 aniversarry.
Having all the teen age girls at church give me a hug and a kiss on the cheek and calling me "grandpa". (I love it).
Having 9 grandkids and only 3 are still in school. (3 GGK)
Listening to you "kids" and all your problems...

Gjefflin 05-25-2004 08:46 PM

I'm only 40 and I have severe arthritis. :( Either that or Tendonitis. I have no idea. All I know is that my fingers hurt every morning and are very stiff. :( This getting old...sucks.

MSD 05-25-2004 08:51 PM

Bad back, bad knees, bad ankles, and realizing that not everyone has heard of Led Zeppelin. I'm 20

wallace1 05-28-2004 05:56 AM

Being concerned about the stock market
Feeling guilty about being attracted to spring breakers
all of a sudden realizing I have conservative tendencies
relizing that I have friends I have known for 20 years

SaltPork 05-28-2004 06:58 PM

Only two things make me feel old:
#1: Bad knees...nothing worse than feeling like a truck parked on your knees all day.
#2: Realizing that it was almost 20 years ago that I graduated High School.

Other than that I still feel like a kid.

Steffi 05-28-2004 07:18 PM

Seeing the shows that I grew up watching on Nick at Nite. ("Full House", "Roseanne", etc.) I remember watching "Bewitched" on Nick at Nite when I was younger and thinking that it was so old. I can just imagine my kids watching "Full House" on there and thinking the same things I thought about "Bewitched."

feelgood 05-30-2004 03:50 PM

Waking up sore in the morning
Having little nap once in awhile
Hanging out with a group of people that makes me the oldest

I'm 20! Now give me my damn discount!

Oh puhleeeeze..... :D

Nick at Nite? How about television before cable tv, before remote controls, before color tv even.

When I was a wee evil queen, The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family and a few other moldie oldies from Nick at Nite were on Primetime...

What makes me feel old? Realizing that people who were born after I graduated from high school, are considered adults...

maleficent 05-30-2004 05:26 PM

I'm thoroughly depressed now, thank you very much.... :(

DDDDave 05-31-2004 05:52 AM

Looking at high school prom pictures with the baby blue tux and the poofy shirt. :)

Watching your parents get old :(

thunder 05-31-2004 06:05 AM

The gray hair in my moustach, my daughters starting to drive, my acheing back and being old enough to be the playmate of the month's father!

icksters 05-31-2004 05:32 PM

I'm 19 and my 7 and 9 year old cousins were like "what's the moonwalk?" I was like wow, I feel old!

EDIT: and Full House being on Nick at Nite

I agree. I must be getting old because I hate most of the music on there. That's usually a sign.

Or music has just gone to shit.

Or maybe both.
:)

Mehoni 05-31-2004 06:14 PM

Listening to people my age.

rmarshall 05-31-2004 06:35 PM

My eyes! I started wearing reading glasses about three years ago. Now I have to get it into my head that I shouldn't leave home without them! I can't go shopping. I can't go to the restaurant. I can't get anything done! I can't read a friggin' label, price tag, menu item or anything without my glasses!

To top it off, most stores have a $2 pair of non-prescription reading glasses for customer use. Why did I pay $300 for two pairs of glasses three years ago?

DirtyVegas 05-31-2004 07:43 PM

haha, sorry Mal....didnt quite mean it like that, just your reason was better than what i was thinking. ;)

I saw it kjroh. Every thread was like that for a minute.

Seems to be okay now. Reading that and the resulting headache made me feel old :(

Cynthetiq 06-01-2004 12:21 PM

seeing that gibberish? you must be getting old ;)

don't worry i saw it too... just a hiccup on the server.

Rubyee 06-01-2004 12:55 PM

Not wanting to stand out in a crowd anymore- makes me realize that I am old.

Being annoyed- very annoyed- by the typical Hot Topic crowd and not even wanting to go in there- that makes me feel old.

Being in bed by practically 10:30 every night- that makes me feel old.

Stretch marks make me feel old.

My boobs- they used to be higher than they are.

At least you know what Hot Topic is you young whippersnapper - I haven't even a clue as to what it is... (googling gave me the answer, I would not have guessed at all)

p0thead 06-01-2004 01:12 PM

being so out of shape, and not being able to pull all nighters. i get sleepy around 10 or 11.

troit 06-01-2004 01:50 PM

Seeing family members that I remember being born graduating from college has been a real eye opener.

Realizing that my parents are now at the age that my grandparents were when I was 10.

-- just to name a couple.

madsenj37 06-02-2004 11:29 PM

For my friend and I, we feel old when we see a mom and daughter and check them both out, realizing many moms look as good as daughters. That and the fact that playboy centerfolds are sometimes younger than us.

maleficent 06-03-2004 09:20 AM

My brain is filled with trivia, much of that trivia is movie quotes that come to the surface at any given time, generally when I have the need for that quote. The quote that bobbled up earlier, was
Quote:

All I know is, you've got to get mad. You've got to say, "I'm a human being, goddamn it. My life has value."
Twas totally appropriate for the situation, but the 4 people who were near me, had never heard of Howard Beale, nor the movie Network - I can't quote nuttin' from a recent movie - but apparenly I am queen of the old movies..

A movie from 1976 is an old movie? grrrrrr

cameroncrazy822 06-03-2004 10:12 AM

After I work the birthday party, getting the blood out of the clown suit makes me feel really old.

I'm not even sure it'd be called a movie. I think they were still "moving pictures" back then.

Delvid 06-03-2004 11:25 AM

I drove through my old college campus and saw all these really young kids. Man it hit home hard. My parents are also getting really old and the part that sucks is I am next in line.

ibis 06-05-2004 10:41 AM

It seems the music I listened to when I was young is just starting to be "old school". Shit, I'm only 21.

Oh and the fact that I can now say "THose damn teenagers!"

cowudders14 06-05-2004 04:12 PM

My wife and I went into a pub recently, bought a drink, grumbled at the high price, frowned at the loud music and went to find a table outside, away from the "noise and the crowds".

We looked at each other and said "We are old!"

And we are (both) only 25... :)
