funniest thing I've seen in a looooong time
I saw the funniest damn thing today. I had lunch with my dad, and he knocked his drink over. When he saw that it (spilling drink) was headed his way, he tried to scoot his chair back really fast, but managed to tip hs ass all the way over backwards on to the restaurant floor. So there he was, a shocked look on his face, on his back, on the floor, still in his upended chair, and his drink landed right on top of him.
I love my dad dearly. It was all I could do not to laugh...for about 2 seconds. I've been laughing ever since. I've been almost unable to function, I'm laughing so much. I had to take a crap, and I found myself laughing in the stall. People do not want to hear a man trying to stifle laughter in the crapper. But there I was. Gawd. I'm laughing now. 12 hours later, and I'm laughing. I can barely type.

dude. all my close friends know a rule to me:
You Will Be Laughed At. i don't give a fuck if you die in two minutes in pain. if you do something dumb or funny I will laugh. i also laugh at myself (if at a later time) so yeah. keep laughing |

Hehe yeah, stuff like that is always funny. I usually manage to see the funny side of it when it happens to me too, even if I'm in excruciating pain.
That story reminds me of a time when I worked at Burger King. We were closed and cleaning up, and the manager was walking past the area where we did the dishes. He slipped over on the wet floor and landed flat on his arse. There were these big metal things that hold the trays of lettuce etc, and they were standing on their ends waiting to be washed, with a pile of plastic trays on top of them. On his way down he bumped them, and after he landed the plastic trays on top fell on his head, followed soon after by the big metal things themselves. To make it even better, everyone who was working happened to see it. No-one could make any move to help him up for ages, because we were all too busy laughing our arses off.

Laughter is a good thing. Those that can laugh about the dumb things they do will be better off in the end. One way to shake off embarrassment is to go ahead and laugh about what you did and concede that it was dumb or hilarious. It can make others feel more comfortable around you too.. e.g. your dad and you at the table.

For some reason that story reminds me of a party that I went to. This *ahem* rather large girl was there and she was a little inebriated. She proceded to walk down the stairs and... missed one step. She fell down and some how turned herself around and did a backwards somersault down the stairs.
She stood up right after she was done rolling around and gave a giggle. "Whoop! I'm ok. hehe." She didn't get hurt so it was, of course, hilarious. |
