|
My initials are JPK, but I use my second given name over the first. You see, I am a product of a mixed marriage, my mother is Japanese and my father is Irish Canadian. In homage to both my cultural heratiges, I was given a Japanese name and an Irish name. Unfortunately, one of my names is mispronouned so often (it was driving me CRAZY!), that I use the other as default.
|
are you ready for this?
I was born jason micheal mace.
My parents were hippies and thought since Jason meant healer it would be a cool, unique name. joke's on me however because the year I was Born, Jason was the Most commonly chosen name in America. I remember growing up and going to school, there were always 5-6 Jasons in each of my classes. It was so bad that the teachers just called us by our last names. My ethnicity is mostly French, European, Czechoslovakian, and some Native American... I’m a mutt. Growing up, I lived under the sun and was so dark that a lot of people thought I was Mexican. I liked my last name. I actually preferred for people to call me by my last name. I believe we were named after the spice or perhaps the medieval weapon. My hippie parents divorced while I was still young and never saw much of my dad. My mom remarried and my Stepfather raised me as his own. I’m not gonna go into much detail about this part as I am still pretty sensitive about it. About the time I was in J.R High School I was adopted by my stepfather and my name changed to jason wayne raper. Raper? WTF? Who in the fuck came up with that name? As I understand it, My stepfather’s decendants were from Germany and were “Rope Makers” and were known as “Ropers” but when they immigrated to America the name got mistranslated. Still, fuckin’ “Raper”, can ya believe it. I hated that fuckin’ name, still do. It’s brought me a lot of grief and has put me in a lot of uncomfortable situations…. |

My initials are TDR. The T is Thomas (but I use Tom). The D is Dylan.
|
Dave.
|
My parents thought it would be a good idea to give me the same first and middle name as my father without a junior or II to differentiate us.
|
My real name is Erik (with a k dammit, not a c)
But most of my firends actually call me Kreskin, after I was given the name by my boss for being a smart ass. Kinda stuck after that. |
First name is Brandon
|
I'll just let you guess. And don't cheat by looking three inches to the left.
|
My name is Heather Gay. Not gaylin but just plain Gay. My parents are anti alternate lifestyle but would you believe it I ended up bi. He he what if they only knew.
|
Bradley Taylor, and surprisingly I never caught any shit for sharing a name with a TV character on home improvement.
|
hmm, funny, I was talking with someone at work today about names. I commented that if my name was Richard, I would NEVER go by the name of Dick. And yet people do it every day. Why? A Richard can be Rich, Ritchie, Rick, Rickie, but WHY DICK? Who in his right mind would want to be known as Dick?
Meanwhile, my given name is Shaun. There is a connection between it and my TFP name. Can you figure it out? (No fair if you remember me telling the story on the last incarnation of this board). |
Chris is my first name [people who dont know me call me christopher all the time], as an isnight into my nickname I used to use it for civilization II. I liked the intentional misspelling of august into agust cause it made my name notable.
|
Another Michael. My mom said she named me after the Archangel.
Boy, talk about being misnamed. The Archangel probably hides his head a lot if I get mentioned. My initials are MCC and a lot of my graphics and stuff on the net go by MC2, (MC Squared). I tried for the domain mc2.com but was too late. And I prefer Michael, not Mike, but I try not to be stuffy about it. |
My first name is Thomas. No one calls me that, and I only use it to sign important-looking stuff. My family calls me Tommy, and the rest of the free world calls me Tom. My wife never even calls me by my name....
|
My first name is Jean-François, but I'm called either J-F, Jeff or a variation of my family name, which happens to be a common English first/last name. I'm of French/Irish/Native American descent.
|
initials here are DJC but for now I shall remain known as pseudopsycho
|
I'm Tom! The family is allowed to call me Tommy, but that's only because my dad's name is Tom, too. And no, I'm not junior, either - different middle names.
My initials, TEH always get corrected by that damn spell check! Curse you Bill Gates!!! |
robin cook....like the author cept i don't write books and i'm a young female....
;) |
..........
|
christopher i like it real strong name
|
bill.
|
Hmm, well my real last name is Romeo, as in "Hey Romeo, where's Juliet?"
I'll probably slip and give my first name at some point, I tend not to be too paranoid about such things. Then again, with the kind of stuff one might be involved with on this board, it might be a good idea to be a little more circumspect. Hell I'm probably already screwed, I use this tag on a couple other boards, that I think I have profiles with my full name on 'em... |
I've got one of those serial killer sounding names with Lee in the middle and a two syllable last name.
|
Joshua Micheal Fagen (hence JMF)
|
Charles IV
I like it; I don't go by The Fourth much, but I'm the only one I've ever met. Everyone always asks if I'm going to continue this tradition when I have a kid. How the hell am I supposed to know? First, I have to find a wife, THEN I have to have a son, and then she has to consent. Whew. Still, it'd be nice to do. Anyway, I got all the Charles nicknames growing up: Chuck, Charlie, Chaz, The C-Man (which, when said quickly, sounds an awful lot like Semen), and Quad. I answer to pretty much anything nowadays, though . . . |
Slims, just Slims.
|
My name's Robert. I'm fine with that. I'm not planning to change anything.
My brother, on the other hand, is trying to get Optimus Prime legalized as his middle name. |
It looks like Throatwarbler Mangrove, but it's pronounced "Smithhampton Luxuryyacht".
Kudos if you get the reference. |
Name's Yusef people...
|
uh, josh.
|
Robert, Rob, <b>Bob</b>, Bobby
|
My name's Ken. I like it just fine, but my last name sucks. I wish it was something like Hudsucker, cuz that's fun, and the movie was okay.
|
REAL --FIRST AND MIDDLE--HAROLD LYNN.MOM SAID IT WAS TO BIG AND CALLED ME HAL.IT STUCK VERY WELL.
BACK WHERE I'M FROM SOME CALL ME HALDONIA P. EVERY NOW AND THEN HI EVERYBODY |
Brandon... as you may have deducted.
|
My name has been changed to protect the innocent.
|
my first name sounds like a hairlip dog barking. I changed my last name 15 yrs ago cause I wanted something easier to spell, and didn't want my kids to grow up with the hassle of it. Plus, my dad was just a sperm donor, so I had no loyalty to it.
|
EDJ
I really disliked my name growing up, but it's okay now I guess. Just really tough to have an "E" name when all your cousins did too... Elizabeth! Elaine! Erin! and then they'd finally get to me... but I'm not telling, it's elsewhere if you really must know. |
Quote:
Gregory -> Gregory Peck William -> William Holden Now, Greg700 do we share the middle name too? As an aside, with the initials GW does anyone want to guess where G_Whiz (or GeeWhiz) came from? |
I will give my initials CAL I have really thought about changing my first name or going by my middle name I just cant decide
|
Larry is what I go by, unless I'm in trouble then I hear Lawrence.
I ususally answer to anything though. I had a hs teacher call me Phil out of the blue, and he called me that the whole year. |
Jeff here, but parents didn't know how to spell full name, co it came out Jefferey.
Doesn't bother me, makes me unique. I only hear the full name when I'm in trouble. The last name is a big issue though. It's french and hard to spell and pronounce. NOBODY ever gets it right, even after I tell them how to pronounce it. The only people to ever pronounce it right the first time were my French teacher in HS (go figure) and a hotel clerk in Canada (again, big shock). The best part about it is I can tell when a telemarketer is on the phone. Telemarketer - "Hi Mr. uhh, uummm (bad attempt at pronouncing name). Me - "Sorry, no one here by that name." click |

Full name : Kenny Chris Wilfried Deriemaeker. Yes, it's a stupid name over here too.
|
My real name is..... just guess by my screen name.
Jim right? Wrong. I chose Jim Kata in omage (spelling) to the shitty late night movie of my youth "GYMKATA" anyways.... I'm another Rock here. Well.....that's what some people call me at least. my initials are RUB as in RUB one out...or RUBbin one off. Some people call me "Patches" because of my two toned cock. |
I was cursed with the oh so androgenous, Corey. Nice t'meetcha.
|

Anyways, I'm another Chris. My parents chose both my and my brother's names (Dana) so that they wouldn't have to think of two different names depending on what gender we turned out to be, lazy, lazy lazy. |
Mike

Hi, i'm Anders and i'm really not an addict. Really, i'm not.
/me takes a zip of coffe and smokes a pack. Nah, my name's Anders Kraneled, i have a middle name but i dislike it so i wont tell any of you :) (Oh to hell with it, its Folkmar). AFK is my initials, and they are far by the truth (In a geeky kind of way, AFK is also short for 'Away From the Keyboard') |
My name is Zach or Zachary if its family, I'm in trouble with my mother, or if I just want to sound a little more distinguished.
I like my name for the most part, I hate when people mispell it or think it is "Jack" instead. I really like my middle name, Gray, though and I plan to pass it on when I have a son. |
My Name Is Pat, ROCK!
|
THIS IS A GREAT THREAD!
CKC Christopher Kelly C****** Didn't care for my middle name much but once I got a little older, I'm glad to have been named after my uncle ;-) |
My name is penis slang. In the phone book backwards with a comma it is quite ridiculous.
|
Joshua which is far too common a name for my taste. Though, I actually sign off on emails and such with "Joshie"... guess it's just more personable.
I was almost named after the Native American leader Sequoia from which the trees get their name. I'm part Chickasaw so my mother thought it'd be appropriate. My father thought I'd be taunted for it so vetoed it. Makes me wonder what life would have been like with that as my name. |
shalena
my mom was a hippy creative type :) |
Either Jim or Jimmy.
|
guess
Artemis Throckmorton III aka Dorkas McGee aka Charlemagne VonPeebles aka Hasslehoff Delray aka Mr. Manfredgen...son. (reference anyone?) aka My name is Retardo Mentleblock( for real corinthian leather) aka Brian- yes, with an "I" |
my first name is alisa. i love my name...
my middle name is ann |
damn, figured I'd see someone with my name... but no...
First name: Douglas, or Doug Middle: Pavey and my last name is a profession. not blacksmithing. i go by doug, douglas, or even pavey... but alot of people miss hear pavey and think people are calling me baby... crazy freaks... its like Davey with a P isntead of the D... meh... |
Quote:
My middle name shouldn't be too hard to figure out... |
It's funny with my name, my first name, Joshua, and my last name are super common, but my middle name Amir though is fairly rare and few have it (or at least where I'm from)
|
My Name is Fran - er... my full name is Francis
I guess my name would have been cool back in the 40's or 50's, but it isn't really very common now. Especially for males. |
Michael. I go by Mike or, of course, Mikey.
My wife called me Mikey while we were dating, and that's what her family calls me to this day. Oddly enough, we have a 2 year old son who shares my name, and they call HIM Michael. -Mikey |
Name starts with an E.

 |
First name Ian, last name starts with K.
I'm fairly pleased with my name, and don't have too many problems (though my boss had issues the first time he saw my name, saying "EYE-an" *twitch*) |
Real name's Trae. I like the way it is spelled, original and stuff. SOOOOOOOOO much better than T-R-E-Y.
|
Thomas, I go by Tommy, and don't really like it when people call me Tom. Tom is the name of my dad and grandpa, I am the third.
|
My first name is Erik, but that's also my father's name so I went by Joe just to ease the confusion. Then they got divorced and now my step-father is name Joe. Can you feel the irony?
My father actually wanted to name me Francis Patrick Allowishus <last name>, which is kinda cool. I am sure I spelled Allowishus wrong. |
My initials are "G O D" . . . true story . . . .
|
andrey
|
My initials are ET. Yes, I got teased for it as a kid (heck, I think even today people chuckle at its mention). No, I will not be changing my name (unless the mob is after me, of course :D).
|
First name is Brian. It's a run of the mill name, and it doesn't bother me. My last name, however, is impossible to spell and pronounce. At least I know when it's telemarketers on the phone.
|
I feel I know you all well enough to continue with my voodoo practices, now...
Anyhoo, my first name is Irish, as am I (who woulda thunk it?): Quinn My middle name is Passamaquoddy and means "Red Fox," but unless you're up on that language, you won't know it. My tribe is the most prevalent in Maine. Wheee! I'm thinking about opening a casino... Last name: Maynard. I go by it a lot, so I figure I should give it out. Nickname(s): Quinn Diesel (like Vin Diesel, only smarter), Q-Dubb, and Dingo. |
Tornyle. Most just call me Nyle though (besides 3 cousins and 4 aunts). It usually gets mutated into Tornell or Tarnall or even Torneil. Yeah, that y really throws them off.
|
Andy's the name
|
Matteo
|
Dominic Andrew Arenas.
Im still experimenting with "Dominiq" aka: Dom, Nicky, Slick Nick(MY FAVOURITE nickname) |
Erick. Yes, with a 'c' And a 'k' (Full name is Erickson)
It's a family name and I like it pretty well, almost nobody uses that spelling. |
Rob. I like the name except that most everyone who sees Robert automatically assumes Bob. I know a guy named Robert who was so bothered by that he legally changed his name to just Robb (two 'b's, not a typo). He was a pretty wierd guy though.
|
my last name is Colver which is what everbody calls me anyway, because my first name is very much like my other friends and exactly like my other firiends
if all tweeks are dweedles and some deweedles are torents then must some be tweeks torents? |
My last initial is "X", and I'm going to be a doctor. And yes, I plan on being addressed as "Dr. X." Think that will scare patients off?? (especially if I become a surgeon :D )
|
My name is Amber- kind of a hooker's name I've been told. I used to hate it and want a "normal" name, but I've grown to like it because it's not as common as lots of other names.
|
I have the cool name Pace. I bet you never heard that before
|
my name sarts with d...........but ppl call me harry or wiz or dc
|
Tom, or occasionally Tommy. My middle name is an old Yorkshire word meaning "a field with no rocks in it"!
|
james is my real name
some call me jim some call me jimmy and some call me the fat man take your pick |

I am castex. Hear me roar:
grrrRAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaooooooOow. (okay, my surname rhymes with spaniels) |
My name is Boy... no really.. it is... stop laughing!
Okay, so my parents (although they've never admitted it) must've been high when they thought of that, but ::shrugs:: it is quite unique and it is my name... |
neil :D
|
Anthony
It's alright - I've heard worse. Of course, I'd love to be something like Stryker MacGuire or Max Power... obligatory Simpsons quotation: "there're no snuggles with Max Power: strap on your seatbelt and feel the Gs!" |
My best friend and I have prolly have the coolest initials ever when we sign something next to eachother (to where are initials can be read in succession) My initials are JAB and my best friends are SAC = )
|
i am glen! this is a superior name!
|
My name is in my handle "Micah" (67 is birthyear). It's easy to screen incoming calls; the ones who call me Mike are solicitors.
Middle name is "Mithrandir". Named after Tolkein's "Lord of the Rings". It's Gandalf's name in the Elvin tongue. |
My full initials are RSC...but without the middle name, it's RC...you know like, RCola...
|
Richard, called Rich. It's nice because not many have it, but when someone else does and they get called you feel stupid when you look over. Only downside is being called Dick, but it's easy to get past.
