Nominate a thread for Hall of Fame

I'd like to gather the best threads of the TFP and feature them in the new Hall of Fame forum. If you can remember a thread that is worthy of this honor, please post here and we'll try to get the best ones up there.

Here's what makes a thread legendary... choose 1.. or more:

Sparks a raging debate with great responses
Incredibly funny or amazing anecdote
Tons of content
Represents the TFP well

This is my opinion only:

Recently, the best of tfp has been Hal's topics encouraging the input by members. Wild, honest, passionate, every emotion possible that no one would bother to express, if tfp were unimportant to them.

Hal, I don't think this is the suggestion that you are looking for, but your openness to member criticism and/or participation in growing tfp, is certainly a "best of" in my opinion. Perhaps, conversations of this kind are better located in the Tilted Suggestions area? It's my belief that responses from your membership, that you have encouraged, should reside in an accessable place there.

I need to give more thought to a "best off" topic that I think you are soliciting from the membership. My favorite forums are serious (Politics) and beyond silly (Nonsense). One is the antedote to the other.

Damn it! I know just the thread I wanted to nominate but it's not in the database. It must have gotten lost during an upgrade or catastrophic failure...

Describe it. We may be able to find it. When the site was upgraded, the search database was broken, but the threads still remain. I'm sure someone will be able to figure out what the thread is based on a description.

Wow, it really sucks that the search database was broken. Now that I know the threads are there, I just went through them, page by page...
Here's one of my nominees:

A fly in a car from Tilted Politics.

By the way, we should probably split these threads up by forum. After all, you can't expect a good Knowledge thread to be good for the same reasons a good Philosophy or Entertainment thread is good...

I second the nomination for anything by Clavus - his story about being locked outside naked is my favorite for sure!

Other than that, is there a stupidly funny category? Because it really doesn't get much better than the horizontal pussy thread in that case ...

I just finished reading through each of Clavus' threads posted here by MrSelfDestruct, and indeed they are worthy of the Hall.

I strongly nominate this thread I found by chance: Some of our members' more memorable quotes. (NSFW) It is consistently hilarious, displays a great deal of personality from a wide variety of members, and, I believe, embodies the light-hearted side of TFP.

I thought the "say something nice about the previous poster" thread was great.

The particular Clavus threads I'd point to are "locked outside naked" and "Vasectomy". The line "Telling junior, 'we have to be gentle with daddy' while lying in a fetal position on the floor was not one of my better parenting moments" will live with me forever.

I reread those again yesterday and thought Comedic Genius, all star posts without a doubt!

NoSoup's Guide to Obtaining and Maintaining Excellent Credit

This is the first thread that comes to mind. Credit is something that doesn't catch one's attention in the rush of life, the 24/7 news cycle, and the flood of media all the time. Knowing about it can save one thousands and improve one's life (insurers use it now also). Solid advice. Good questions. It's already helped my life.

No Soup's and The_Jazz's other financial discussions are great also.

I'll second this one as one of the best. Very funny indeed.

I'm curious how you all feel about Plan9's Getting Girls 101. Up until the end it was pretty entertaining. It at least meets the debate and content recommendations.

Cough, Cough.

What every happened to the thread "Why don't boring guys get laid?", formerly known as "Why don't nice guys get girls?". I seem to recall it being in the forum about men and women understanding their differences or something to that effect. I realize that the forum hasn't been around in a while, but what happened to all those threads. Certainly seems to be Hall of fame material from what I remember.

I'm not sure whether it belongs in the hall of fame, but that thread is a work of art. So short, yet so funny.

I want to nominate this thread:

http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/tilted-...irlfriend.html

It has both human tragedy and witty banter; what else do you need?
