Your Ugliest Christmas Decoration...or just post a pic of your tree
This ornament has been a part of each and every Christmas for as long as I can remember. Yet I have been told over and over...husbands, kids, friends, what have you...that it is the ugliest decoration they have ever seen and that I should get rid of it. I say: Fuck ya'll, man, this little guy ain't goin' nowhere. Just kidding, I don't really say that - I just think it.
So we decorated our tree last night and it got me to thinking about whether anyone else out there had a favorite Christmas decoration that they just couldn't get rid of...no matter how horrid it is. Stab in the dark here.....but here's the picture Here's a picture of my tree, too...thought maybe if you don't have an ugly decoration you can just post a picture of your tree, instead. The elf, by the way, this year is perched on the shoulders of our Santa tree-topper. Hitchin' a ride this year. My daughter's idea...and a damn good one, too. If this should be in another forum, please move it...I wasn't sure where I should put it.

Oh man, I wish I still lived near my mom. She has these GOD AWUFUL ones from when she was a child. They are ugly as sin, and twice as evil, and they get trotted out each and every year for her tree. Maybe I can have her send me a pic.

Here's a classic:
My wife used to have an old Santa doll that her Grandmother used to have as a child. It was given to her as a gift and she cherished it to no end. Sometime before we got married and she lived at home, she had the Santa doll out as a decoration one Christmas and it tragically fell behind a radiator. When they discovered it (probably from the odor of burning plastic), the poor Santa's plastic face had melted. Still, my wife cherished this doll, and still put it out with all the other decorations every Christmas. I would tease her to no end about it....the doll was just not fit for public display. I finally convinced her to throw it away after our kids seemed scared of it. |
