I can imagine it would be a blast. I'd love to meet everyone too. Unfortunately there are only certain times when we can travel down there and it may not be on that particular weekend. Currently we are trying to determine if it is better for us to go Thurs to Sun or Sun to Thurs as Sun to Thurs would mean our son could be in his standard daycare for most of the day and it would be easier on my parents.

But I don't need to bore you with the details. I'll see what I can do...:)

Expedia has a deal good for travel in september, and im sure there will be more like it, so join Travelocity, expedia, and orbitz mailinglists and see what is being offered over the months. You can get a good package here for 2 or 3 days for about 300 usually. My gf and I flew out here round trip from Chicago for $175 last december, it's all about your timing when booking tickets and such. Also i'll keep you guys updated if i find any deals at the hotels..

Up here (In God's Country!:D ), we have a chain of grocery/dept. type stores (Fred Meyer) that have a supervised children's area- you drop the lil' couch monkeys off, and pick 'em up when you're done shopping. You have anything like that, down south?;) :eek: :lol:

If not, maybe I can get one of my hosts to hook me up with a cool setup. I know I have lost and won enough cash that they should take care of me since I alway have a big suite compted whenever I go.

I can't go, but I'm going to agree with phred on this one. The Luxor is a great place. It also has a monorail that takes you to Excaliber and Mandalay Bay (if I remember correctly).

they will all have a monorail connecting them by january..

I found phred a flight from phoenix to las vegas for 58 bucks round trip!! (but he's driiiiving..oooh la la)

Personally i'd try to stay in the goldcoast, rio, or Tuscany Best Western to save some cash, but the Statosphere has pretty decent rates, and their rooms are nice too. Keep in mind that im a poor ex- college student.. so if you can afford more then by all means SPLURGE!!

There is a bar at the Rio called "the Tilted Kilt" that could be a fun place to meet...

Also I agree with Phred, if we're gonna do this, why not try to get a deal on the strip, especially at Luxor. Let's live a little, the extra money at night will be saved in cab fare. I vote for somewhere on the strip, with 3-6 hold 'em tables, a strip club within walking distance, and a big pool.

Minx... i and a couple of other's were looking into that.

Unfortunately, unless we get our numbers a bit higher, the hotels won't give us much of a group rate. It really doesn't pay for them to discount the rooms unless there are large numbers (like 50-100+ people).

That doesn't mean we can't all try to stay at the same place. Vegas is not huge, but spread out... and it would be nice if we were all in the same general area to meet up for meals, hang out, whatever. *smile*

Sorry i've dropped the ball on bit on further information gathering. Family crisis stuff going on here and my time on the net has had to take a back seat. I'll see what i can do.
