The first time I saw a nun, I was 6 years old.
Groggy from the anesthesia after surgery,I began to scream. "Mom! There's a witch in my room!" (Catholic hospital. Nun nurse.) My poor mother was quite embarrassed. The nurse/nun quietly left the room, and let my mom try to explain what a nun was. My young, ignorant, medicated brain couldn't grasp much at that time. Anyway, here are some nuns in Pakistan: |

As I already posted this cool image with details, it wasn't too difficult to find and fulfill your request for the artist's name. (Just in time for shark week, too.)

Love Train for the Tenebrous Empire: Clovis Trouille's Nun Art The art of surrealist painter Clovis Trouille employs a catalog of highly personal imagery, plucked from sources ranging from Catholic iconography to advertising to erotica/pornography. One of the themes that runs through Trouille's work is that of the sexualized nun. above piece: "Dialogue au Carmel," 1944, featured at the Guggenheim in NYC.

Jessica Alba, by Joshua Calvert (for Paranoid). - - - Observation: I still don't get why the strict and obscene (I'm sure there's a better word for 'bawdy') NSFW label has to be observed here. I get that a few posts are suggestive, but there's still no nudity, and that's my own interpretation of what needs the NSFW label (and dozens upon of re-utterances of sexual organs, but that is just moi; plus, I don't know who I'm winning over and/or pissing off by stating this, but 'NSFW' is a little nym I hate to encounter).

Sexy Ads Upset the Pope - Racy Equinox Fitness Ad (VIDEO) [article]
The latest (as in two years ago) in buzzworthy ads is the new Equinox Fitness ad campaign, “Happily Ever.” One image features a group of nuns (one revealing a sexy garter!) sketching a still life portrait of a very chiseled, naked model who looks much like Michelangelo’s David. Judging by their facial expressions, they’re quite amused by the features of their manly muse. Bawdy Ad in Question (Pic) click to show

Near Death, Nuns Contemplate the Other Side
Photographer Mae Ryan interviews the Sisters of the Convent of Mary the Queen, a home for aging nuns in Yonkers, N.Y.
Do you consider yourself married to God? Sister Jude: Yes. I don't use that term, marriage, but I belong to God. I'm trying to do his work a little extra. I don't think I'm any better than anyone else, but I'm trying my best. Do you think about death? Sister Rita: Yes, I do. I used to be frightened at the thought of death, and then all of a sudden one day, I didn't have that fear, and since then I haven't had that fear. It's like you're going home, which is what you're here for. God gives you to your parents, they help you to grow, but that's not the end. The end is when God calls you home. VIEW MORE

Word of advice: (* -) I'd probably implore you not to seek out the DVDrip to this film, at this time. -- (to note: yes: the above movie actually exists, and more incredulously, it actually wants to falls under the umbrella classification of a nunsploitation film.)

Fairway to Heaven by Anni Morris (New Zealand) author's comments: The Heavenly Sisters have invaded the local golf course. They are practising their swings and golf clubs are going in all directions. This is the third of my nun paintings and the largest so far. I hope it makes you smile.
