Mae Ryan interviews the Sisters of the Convent of Mary the Queen, a home for aging nuns in Yonkers, N.Y.
Do you consider yourself married to God?
Sister Jude: Yes. I don't use that term,
marriage, but I belong to God. I'm trying to do his work a little extra.
I don't think I'm any better than anyone else, but I'm trying my best.
Do you think about death?
Sister Rita: Yes, I do. I used to be frightened at the thought of death, and then all of a sudden one day,
I didn't have that fear, and since then I haven't had that fear. It's like you're going home, which is what you're here for.
God gives you to your parents, they help you to grow, but that's not the end. The end is when God calls you home.
