Favorite type of pistol holster

I just got a Glock 19 and was wondering what everyone’s favorite type of carry method was.

Belt mounted is my favorite. Why? Well, it's easily hidden (if you've got a CCW), it's quickly retrievable, and (usually) an out of the way place.

Ankle and shoulder holsters are a pain in the arse to get to, and as a result, impracticable.

Heard bad things about the middle of the back. ”The only thing that’ll save you from a armed robbery is the burglar wondering what the hell you’re doing digging around in your underwear trying to retrieve the gun that slipped down your back”

For most applications, in my opinion, the belt-mounted holster is the best way to go, but like it usually does, it varies from person to person.

waist is the best. I have a metal kind that is coustom to my Glock model. It click right in, and is not very big/obvious at all, you can't even tell the gun is there.

I've got a Fobus paddle holster for my Glock 19. I was just wondering what most people prefer.

I use a kydex IWB belt holster for my Glock 23 by Comp-Tec. You can adjust the cant angle if need be but it's still quite secure and comfortable.
SOB holsters force you to use a Cavalry Draw which sweeps your torso - not fast nor ideally safe IMO.
Shoulder holsters are really uncomfortable - especially when it's hot.

shoulder is uncomfortable, but i find that the only way for a person like me to conceal; but since i really dun have a gun to conceal nor could i carry a one anyway, i prefer thigh holsters, not to conceal but its comfortable, even when im lying prone, slightly off topic i know

Do yourself a favor and go to sidearmor.com. You won't be able to find a finer holster for your new glock, I promise.

The most concealable for me, is IWB, that's Inside the waist band carry

I carry above my right butt cheek, and behind my right hip bone

since IWB carry puts the weapon on the inside of the pants/belt, it is pressed extremenly close to the body, and is thus harder to see. Also, since it sticks down in my pants instead of over them, if I accidentally lift my shirt up a bit, nobody will be able to see the bottom of the holster.

www.FIST.com also makes very nice holsters.

Yeah. Sidearmor has a great reputation for their kydex holsters, though I've never owned one. I've had Blade-Tech and Comp-Tech which are terrific products with good track records themselves. I've heard mixed things about the Mad-Dog kydex holsters. Under hard use my buddy has cracked two Mad-Dog holsters - It's not that he's careless - it's just that he does heavy tactical firearms training under a wide variety of conditions. (He's the one who sold me on Glocks because that gun isn't fussy in the field and shoots well right out of the box - but I digress....)

Belt mounted is best for quick draw, esp. if using gun for protection purposes . . .

ankle mounted is nice as well . . . necessity if concealing more than one . . .

Never was a fan of the waist pack . . . seems to exposed . . .

I carry my Kel-Tec p11 9mm in a Don Hume belt slide holster, it is very comfortable and the gun literally disappears when carried this way. I've tried various IWB and small of the back holsters....they were all uncomfortable for me. This is the set up I use

I carry IWB at around 4 oclock with a #3 Kramer horsehide. I think the best part of it is the angle at which the gun sits because it makes it so I can sit back in chairs without pain.

The MOB is great when I'm wearing a jacket or long, untucked shirt. But more often than not it just gets slipped into the front of my waistband.

Glock 27 with Glock Klip...never used a holster going on 5 years, never one problem,
around cops often...never made once, usually wearing jeans and t-shirt, and of course, nothing in the tube:

I went with other because it depends on the situation on what I use. If I know I'll be wearing a jacket, I can either go sholder or if the jacket has an inside pocket, just use the inside pocket. Jeans and a t-shirt, usually my Galco belt holster. Shorts, would have to be the pager pal. Different situations call for different methods of concealment.
