Handled one a while back. Fairly well built and sturdy. I remember the blade being quite thin though.

Aren’t the kung fu swords or Chinese broad swords supposed to be thin for flexibility?

I believe the show swords are thin and wobbly, but the actual fighting swords are a little thicker. Not a lot thicker, but enough to tell the difference. This is probably not a bad sword, but for around $100 I would think it may be a little cheap, but it depends on what you are using it for. I would ask whoever you are training with what kind and where to get them. I found a local shop for my gear, then investigated the brands and types then found them online for less then half price.

I sell paul chens products, have since about the time when they came out, and usualy he does an admirable job- I have moved quite a few of those through my shop and can say that on that one, he did one hell of a job- I have people who DONT LIKE KUNG FU SWORDS who have bought that one after handling it- damn thing moves like a ghost- and if I can get one to hold still for long enough I will keep one-they have a good price on it too- only problem is that chen is currently having trouble meeting demand, and on some of my best sellers I am a few months backlogged...... and btw, they are made as, and work as, deadly weapons, unless they are specificly designated as thin training swords, or unedged training swords (they make both)

I have never even seen Paul's Kungfu sword but I own three of Paul's other swords: a ninja, a katana and a taichi. I don't think you can beat the workmanship at this price level.

I have heard that Paul Chen swords are very well made, but be careful there are a lot of good and bad copies out there.

yeah, but the coppies tend to be way cheaper looking too, - ps, if you but from e-bay, or any other online auction, or e-bay store, you get no warranty, so sayeth the chen-meister- and there is a better chance of knock offs being snuck in- to be safe, buy from a CAS Iberia affiliated dealer- they are the ONLY point of entry dealer in the USA- even Blue ridge, the behemoth wholesaler, gets em from lil ole CAS.....btw, there is currently a helluva wait on a lot of chen stuff, so order early......

No doubt about the backorder, but anything that gets here is gone fast!

Just sold a Bushido Katana last week. Didn't last long for a $1075 sword!

I'd be wary of the dealer, myself. Any place with that many grammatical and spelling errors seems terribly unprofessional.

on dealers- swordforum international is a good place to lurk for info on dealers- and there are some baddies out there.... I personally refuse to deal with anyone that does not have a phone number that I can reach them at, and a verifiable address- sadly, I have even seen scam artists mascarading as distributers ( so they are even scamming dealers now) quick and easy is not always a great idea.....
