Oh. Goodie. Grand. Gunkid.
Well folks, all good things must pass. Seems ol' Gunkid (John Melvin Davis, AKA Ricky3, Elkhorn, Usor, Oosor, and thousands of other handles) will soon be released from federal prison, where he's been serving time for robbing his common-law wife of several dozen firearms and a respectable haul of around 10,000rds of ammunition. The fact that Gunkid was arrested with a cheap Jennings .22 with a crude and barely-functional suppressor, carried in a drawstring canvas bag, surprised nobody.
The internet's gun-boards have been quiet for years. But soon, November of this year if rumour is to be believed, we shall be visited and accursed again. How many folks here even remember ol' Gunkid, anyway? Who else has survived one of his crippling and irritating attacks? Who else remembers being called "sonny" and told to "go ask Jeff Cooper?" Who else recalls the glories of the Assault Wheelbarrow, of peanut butter, of feaces, of the 10" .22LR AR-15? |

Ok I'll bite: What's so bad about Nutnfancy? I've seen one or two of his videos (the compact medkit one in particular) and they seem reasonable and well thought out. Is he one of those internet superheroes that's pretty normal until the right subject comes up and then he reveals he's secretly the caped crusader Batshit Insane Man?

I enjoy his videos.
I guess if someone is already an uber tactical operator they might find his content elementary.

Oh trust me, nobody could ever, EVER replace Gunkid.
This is the person who's favorite strategy to survive TEOTWAWKI was to float down the Mississippi on a raft, shooting people on the banks (with his suppressed 10" .22 AR) to steal their supplies, then sell his "services" to a New Orleans warlord. This is the person who once advocated a combination of peanut butter and one's own feaces as survival food. This is the person who bragged about being sent to prison (for possession of some crap even ATF could only baaaaaaarely call "silencer parts" along with several kiloes of cocaine), and then "escaping" by walking away from a Halfway House only to be recaptured by a Meter Maid. He always left her out of the story for some reason, likewise the fact that his "escape" occurred mere weeks before he was due to be paroled...and added years to his sentence. This is the person who spent 10yrs insisting that the -only- gun to have was a suppressed 10" AR-15 in .22LR, because anything more powerful was a waste (because he'd shoot you from 10") and would give anyone a horrible flinch (because he had one, so everyone else would too), which would -also- occur if the weapon was not suppressed. Meanwhile anything else, even the ubiquitous and hardly overpowered 5.56mm, was derided as a waste of power and resources and accuracy that nobody has anyway (he couldn't shoot accurately, therefore neither could anyone else) chambered only in "plinkertoys" best suited for museums and people who weren't super-cereal about Survival. This is the person Col. Cooper described, in his inimitable way, as "a little off plumb" after ol' Melvin managed to finish dead last in the 1972 IPSC champinships (Rhodesia) and shoot himself twice (once in the belt-buckle with a .22, once through the foot with a 9mm). This is the person who advertised all over the internet that once "the balloon went up," his wife (with whom he was still living at the time) was "meat like everyone else" and "on her own split tail." He also bragged repeatedly about how he "put the bitch in her place." He then wondered why she turned him in to the Feds after he stole all those guns, ammo, jewels and money. Nobody, NOBODY will ever replace Gunkid. |

What I want to know is how this GunKid fellow felt about IMI firearms, since I remember they have been praised so much in this forum.

Not really sure; in all of my interactions with him his "go-to" handguns were;
1: Jennings J-22 .22LR fitted with a primitive, nigh-unworkable suppressor, and; 2: Star 9mm leaded with split-nose cast zinc bullets of his own design, loaded to about 2x SAAMI pressures. |
