[php] Nullifying
I have a design from surreal-media.com. I actually purchased it, but I recently changed host, that apparently blocks their ip/spoofs it. Surreal-Media refuses to allow me to install the layout on my new host, as it's "unsecure", since they can't verify the IP. Basically, when you visit my site you just get an "invalid license" message. I was wondering if there was anyone that could help me by getting rid of the license check. I DID purchase this layout. I think it's stupid I can't use what I pay 90 dollars for because my host blocks the IP to my domain. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried to contact them to see if they might be able to help you? There's a live help tool at the bottom of the page at surreal-media, at the least you could send them an email explaining your situation if you catch them when their helpdesk is closed.

I've exchanged numerous emails with them. Basically, they refuse to let me use it because its 'unsecure' because godaddy spoofs/blocks their IPs. Throughout most of the emails exchanged between surreal-media, and I, consisted of them trying to get me to buy hosting from them. Then I go to GoDaddy to see if they'd allow it to not to be blocked, and it cost an extra 30 bucks, so I'm not doing that either. |

What does "blocks/spoofs their IPs" mean? Is it name-based virtual hosting, where you share an IP with several other domains?
It's not the customers' fault that their security system relies on unique IPs for each customer. That's a failure to take into account the reality of the shared hosting market. You should at least get a refund. Hacking the script to circumvent their license enforcement is a textbook DMCA violation, and no web professional who values his business would touch it. I certainly wouldn't. |

On my license it has "verified IP addresses" and "verified domains" and godaddy spoofs the ip address, so you don't get the actual IP address, and it changes, so the license doesn't match up. My website gets maybe 3 hits a day, so I figured it'd be simple to do, and no one would really know since, no one visits the site. Still sucks to spend so much money to not be able to use. |
