Windows 2000; Sending files between users?
Hi. I just created a new user account on my computer, and I need to know how to either transfer certain files in "My Documents" over to the new account, or somehow make them accessible without turning it into an Admin account. Please help!

I would say that the quickest way would be to move all the documents that were in the "my documents" folder into a new folder in a spot that is accessible to both accounts (I.e. make a folder called c:\stuff and move all the stuff that was in the "my documents folder" into the c:\stuff folder). This should allow you to move the files without needing admin access on that account.
Note: you may want to redo the permissions of the files moved to make sure that "everyone" has permission to view the files. |
