MP3 Or NetMD

Whats better to get a Portable Mp3 Player, preferably solid state (no Moving parts) or a NetMD (Md which lets you transfer Music from your PC to Mini Discs) ?

It depends on the Mp3 player, I got a free Mp3 player when I bought my phone, It was a bogstandard 64M, Which is about 1 hour of tunes. IMO, thats too fucking small, I was loading new tunes every day, I dont get why so many Mp3 players are 64. If you really wanna go MP3, get yourself an I-Pod, Everyones raving about them.

Had a Minidisk for a while too, its handy, disks are cheap, softwares not bad either. The one complaint bout the MD. I got casettes Cd's, a truckload of wax & Mp3's on the pooter. Having to transfer my favs onto yet another format was a pain.

Yer But things like the iPod have Hard Drives, If you were listening to some tunes, whilst moving the HDD would most likely scratch easily...

i like Minidiscs but I have to admit mp3 players are a lot more convenient. Minidisc players are suprisingly durable, I've abused mine (dropped it, thrown it haphazardly into bookbag, etc) and it's still fine (Sony MZ-R900). It has dents and someparts are bent but it works perfectly.

Cons are that it's a bit heavier than I'd like it to be, but I've never held a higher capacity mp3 player so I don't know about those. If I had money to get an mp3 player, I'd get a really high capacity one like an ipod (many gigs).

Realistic battery life on my md player is maybe around 18 hrs on the included rechargable battery. I also like having discs around for different music, but I think you can have playlists for that on an mp3 player. I also like being able to record with microphone on the MD player.

It's just personal preference I guess. Even though I'm an MD fan, right now, I'd rather have a high capacity mp3 player.

Actualy not. the IPOD is well designed (hence the price) and has a well respected shock absorbant system that has rarley if ever caused a glitch. Plus, the ipod loads the next 20 minutes of music into memory, meaning the glitch would occur un-noticed by the user.
Simply ingenious.
