Clear your cache (cookies etc..) I don't know what the issue is, but it worked for me. Back when I used IE that is....(obligitary switch to Firefox comment).

Yeah, it should work by clearing cache, it always does this when the cache gets full to save space probably. But luckily in firefox it doesn't do this.

i have no idea what you are saying here. thats an awful lot of periods for no complete sentences!

in firefox if you click an image and drag it, it automatically downloads it. you can choose a default download directory, so its as easy as click drag and boom, there it is.

Actually, i dont much like this behavior because i use a "Super Drag and Go" extension where i can click a link, drag it and have it open in a new tab. if you do it with an image link you download the image, but it doesnt open the link.

if you are trying to download *LOTS* of images off a single page <cough porn cough> then try the "Down Them All" extension. you can filter media by type and even by other wild card filters.

A lot of times I've noticed that if you are on a website with pictures being pulled from a database via CGI, then the pictures are saved as a .bmp file in IE, however firefox will save as .jpg. If they are direct-linked pictures, IE shouldn't have a problem.

IE saves them as .bmp if they aren't completely downloaded. Refresh the picture link or clear your cache and refresh.

ok its like this i click the image thumbnail link.. it blooms to the full size pic. the pic on the site is blah.JPEG when i click to save its listed as .bmp for me.. at the time it was saving find as jepg. reason for this every bmp is listed as untitled which is annoying to have to type out a name. and if i hit ramdom keys they get jummbled and later have to resort them

was just wondering why it would go from jepg to bmp and back at seemingly random times.. when all the pics i get are jpeg at the source code.

It's because you aren't getting the whole pic downloaded. It's random because getting an incomplete download is...pretty random It is saved as a .bmp because the browser basically has to make a new picture from what it partially downloaded, and it's created as a bitmap. Refresh/reload/clear the cache if you aren't getting the format you're expecting.
