Has anyone tried this? Alpine Matrix
http://www.alpinematrix.com/
I dismissed this as spam the first time, but I've talked to a few people about this. A few have actually ordered stuff and are waiting to be cycled through the list. One kid actually received his in dash DVD player, after about 4 months. Them having the wrong date on the main page is kind of unsettling though... Real professional. Check it out, tell me what you think. Seems kinda shady to me, but if someone understands it better than please share. |

matrices are only good if you can be one of the first people on them. I've been on one for a gamecube for about a year and a half now and have only moved up one slot. I've since bought my own gamecube and have given up on that (i think it was only 10 bucks). Although i've heard of success through these, I wouldn't try it again.

That's just the thing. I've talked to quite a few people who "have a friend", or a friend of a friend, or who have heard of someone who has gained from these types of things, but I've failed to actually talk to anyone that has gotten anything from them. I would strongly recommend staying away from anything that sounds this fishy. Also, like yatzr said, these kinds of things seem to only benefit the first few people that sign up, if anyone at all. What if you sign up, but are the last person to do so? The upside to this, however, is that hopefully you didn't lose too much money.
That being said, neither I nor anyone else can make your decisions for you. Read up on that particular company and make an informed decision based on what others have said. Edit: I got bored, so I thought I'd take a look at their site. This is a snippit from their personal information policy. "We do not sell or rent information about our customers or email lists to third parties. However, we may share this information with our partners and affiliates to enable them to provide you with special benefits, offers, and promotions." I wonder who their partners and affiliates are?

Ok, I feel like an idiot.
I read the FAQ, but I still don't understand how this works.. This one item I'm looking at has a matrix length of 21.. but it says there's 135 people on the list, with the top person 'cycling'. So..I'm guessing a certain # of people have to sign up before the cycling person wins. But if there's 135 people on the list, and the matrix length is 21.. am I missing something here? |

21 people have to sign up for the 1 person at the top to get their prize. That means for every one person that has signed up, 21 more people have to sign up before they are off the list. So only about 6 people have gotten cycled if there's 135 people on the list. That's why they suck unless you can be one of those first people. There's almost no chance in hell that the 135th person will ever see a prize.

One of my friends does that with a cell phone service thing to make money....one person makes money if that person can sign up 15 people and then those 15 sign up another 15 more per person......not worth it in my opinion
