PCI 15 pin game card
I have a forcefeedback pro joystick (standard 15 pin) and I can't find a PCI card to use with it in XP. I tried a USB adapter I have but after some research on microsoft's site I found that this particular joystick is incompatible with USB. I could swear that back when I was working tech support we came across all kinds of stand alone gameport cards. Now I can't find a card that doesn't come integrated with a sound card. Do any of these standalone gameport cards exist or am I just nuts? I really don't want to kill my 6 channel onboard audio for some shitty $15 card from compusa.

I haven't seen a "game card" since the ISA days.
Don't be afraid to add a sound card...it will offload some of the work that your processor is now doing if you currently have chipset-integrated sound....so hey look, performance boost. Why would anyone buy a $15 CompUSSR card when you can find an SB Live for around $35...? |

I tired installing an old sound card I had just for shits and giggles, and it totally scrambled the boot up sequence. piece of shit. Anyway, what's a good way to disable the chipset audio if I were to get a new card? Just click disable under device manager before install?
