Having trouble getting a background pic in CSS

This is what I have for the body:

body {
background:#000;
margin:0;
padding:40px 20px;
font:x-small "Trebuchet MS",Trebuchet,Verdana,Sans-Serif;
text-align:center;
color:#ccc;
font-size/* */:/**/small;
font-size: /**/small;
}

How do I re-write it so it'll display a background image?

alternatively, you could just make your css look like this (shortcut)...

body {
background:#000 url(image.png);
}

you can also add the repeat values, positioning values, and other things.
