another strange internet explorer problem
Several days ago my I.E. browser started acting up. It works fine except I cannot open any links. Any time I click a link that opens a new window, I get the outline of the new window and the curser goes to hourglass and just hangs there. Its so frustrating. I'm running XP home and can't uninstall and reinstall I.E.
I've started using firefox as a fix but would like I.E to work also. Any suggestions?

Have you cleared cookies/ temp internet files lately?
Also, do you run any firewall programs? I would clear cookies and temp files, then run ad-Aware or spybot, then see if it works.

O.K., I ran ad-aware and spybot, cleared temp files and cookies and still no luck.
I do use the google toolbar with pop up blocking enabled and tried holding the control key, but still no go. This is very strange. The only solution I could find at M.S. help is a system recover and I am trying to avoid that. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I was able to finally resolve it. Found an article in M.S. knowledge base.
LINK It wasn't supposed to apply to anything past ver.4 or something and I'm at 6, but it worked. Radi8tor had it right, but I found a fix just before I read his post. I had to reregister a couple of dlls. At least sometrhing good came of it. I kind of like Firefox and will probably continue using it. Thanks again.
