No

You can plug the cable modem into one of the regular ports but you will only be able to pull as many IP's as your ISP allows.

Unless you have one of those spiffy cable modems with a DHCP server that will do NAT and routing for you. I *think* some Motorola SurfBoards have that capability...

No, you can't with your modem, unless you get more then one IP from your ISP (you have to pay more for that)

from the motorola site:
Quote:
I have more than one computer. Do I need more than one Motorola SURFboard computer modem?

No, if your computers are connected via a network, one Motorola cable modem will support up to 32 computers. Since each computer must have its own unique IP address - which you can order through your cable provider or ISP - expect to pay a little extra each month for each additional computer you tie in.

AND

Does the SURFboard modem support multiple users?

SURFboard DOCSIS cable modems are capable of providing multi-user functionality, however your cable operator may not offer this functionality or may charge extra to enable it. Please contact your cable provider for more information
Linky to FAQS about your modem

The arm with the sword rose up as if newly stretched aloft, and round the figure blew the free winds of heaven.”

Just buy a router, they arent expensive, and are very easy to setup. Not to mention it would work better.

Like sailor said, a router would be so much easier. Might as well get a wireless one while you're at it. takes about 2 min to configure, they're really cheap these days, and you can have as many users subnetted off of it as you want. Plus wireless is easy as hell to setup. Just plug it in and run the software.
