Help Meh!
Allright, wasn't sure which to put this in computers or photography...mods feel free to move it if needed....but anyway, I love taking pictures on my digital camera, so I opted for a Sony 256MB Memory Stick Pro and I have a fairly good printer but when I go on trips and such and I'm coming back with like 100+ pictures I'd rather opt to just go to Wal-Mart or such and just stick my memory stick in their machine and get them all printed there....lot less work than doing it myself I think...But the problem is for some odd reason my memory card can't be read on their machines....and I'm not sure if it's just a deffective memory card and I should go get mine replaced or something? It reads fine on my computer and digi cam itself but not at any of the stores to get them printed? Hopefully some of you have had similar problems and can help me out? :-D
thanks in advance, and heres a pic of the memory stick |

I've been in the same boat before. This could be for a a few reasons:
Their antiquated software may not be set to read 256 meg memory sticks. (Had this problem with 512 meg CF cards) You may need to take all of the photos off of your stick, and use your camera to format it. This may be a formatting issue. If those don't provide any insight, check the knowledge base at Sony for issues with their 256 meg Mem Sticks. -SF |

the issue may lie in the fact that you are using memory stick pro, and not the standard memory stick. their machine probably has the port and the software to read the standard memory stick, but this is wal-mart we're talking about, so i doubt they're gonna go out and replace all of their readers with new ones because sony came out with a new protocol.
i'd reccommend taking this stick back and grabbing one that works off of the old memory stick protocol, or perhaps burning the pictures to cd and taking them to wal-mart on that media. one other request, being made as a mod. when you post a thread requesting help, put more description of the problem in the topic line than "Help Meh!" - you'll get a much better response from people who have a higher knowledge base in whatever issue you may be having. good luck.
