There's always Trillian.
Uses AIM's (and MSN's and Yahoo's and ICQ's) network(s). I didn't have any problem sending/recieving files from behind Zone Alarm, but I haven't tried it more than a couple of times.

Actually im not so sure that aim fully works with a firewall as some people I talk to with just your basic firewall have trouble sending and receiving files, and also sometimes cant direct connect.
