Yeah...I know they exist too...I've always wanted to see how well they worked and to see how bad ass I could make a house look...I know one thing I most definately want in my house...a theater room...you know like theater seating, surround sound, and a big projection screen or some big screen tv and it would be able to play movie reels maybe and DVD's and cool stuff like that...and maybe even hook my PC up to it...that would be sweet!!! But I wanna try other things too...I wanna plan ahead so I know how much money I'm gonna have to save up to build my dream house...that would be cool!!!

I used to play with Floor Plan 3D by IMSI. I think Best Buy carries this prog with a bunch of others. You can build the floor plan complete with furnishings and then walk around in it. I had to study it in high school and I really like the ease of its interface. That was four years ago and it looks a lot better now. Take a look into it.

there are some nice cheap programs if you just wanna fart aroudn with layout and floorplans and have some quick models at your disposal.
I have a program i bought ofr 10 dollars at best buy called "3D floorplan archetect" and it worksd well enough to get the job done. you make the floor plan, and then click the walls and extrude them to make a desired height. Then for the second floor you just do the same thing at an elevation that matches the ceiling of the first floor. Another really good option for a cheap 3d home simulator is "The Sims" hell it';s for pc, and every videogame console, and you can play with ti for hours customising your house and awallpaper and furniture. The industry uses mostly autocad, or 3Dstudio Viz and some other programs buthose cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.. How devoted to this are you? If you get a company to help you build the house, they can make mockup models of the floorpplan you plan on using out of styrofoam and cork. Just a suggestions....good luck! |
