Tech Support @ Compaq

I've got a quick question for any admins who have dealt with Compaq in the last 4 years.

Up until today, I was able to get phone support for my business class workstations (Deskpro, Evo) whenever I needed it. I'd always been told that with the business class machines, I'd have lifetime phone support.

I never had reason to doubt this. I've called Compaq recently for support on an old Deskpro 2000 that was probably 4-5 years out of warranty.

Today I was told by a Compaq tech that for the last 3 weeks they've been told to no longer offer technical support to workstations beyond their warranty.

Needless to say, I've been scrambling trying to find a copy of the paperwork.

Any of you had a similar experience?

Find the paperwork and sue there asses. Apple pulled a similer thing back in the early 90's and folks still had the paper work and they were FORCED to give support.

Haven't had any experience with Compaq, but it's probably due to the HP/Compaq merger.

you can still get free email support if that's any help.

but if u can find the paper work, bother them till they give u support.
