Run the same program 2x at one time
Hey i was wondering if there was any way i could run the same program more than once like if i want to run winamp 4 times or i want to run a game 2 times over so i can fiddle with settings and not lose information or something like that. (for winamp i know about the glitch where if u click quickly and u get 2 windows i am more looking for a program)

Well, you could just install the program however many times you want... Winamp1, winamp2, winamp3... so on and so forth. That way each program is running off its own folder of files and you don't have to worry about them trying to borrow when you don't want them to.l

don't know if this is what you need, but you can check out virtual machines...
www.vmware.com only problem is that you won't be able to run 3d games on it, and the sound is from an emulated sb16 (I think) |

doesn't winamp let you run more than one instance of the program? i think v2 has an option for that, i don't know if v3 does or not.
won't running more than one instance of a program cause some major problems? like if they're both trying to edit the same registry key or use the same system file? |
