Excel: Questions on comments
I am currently compiling a set of data for a professor, and it requires the use of many comments as references. Often these references are the same in cells that are in close proximity. A search in Microsofts Help, and this forum, did not turn up anything.
So 2 questions: Is there a way to add comments to multiple cells (cut and paste is killing me); and is there an option to turn off the automatic placement of the commentors name (ie the name the software is registered to). Thanks in advance, though I'm not expecting a favourable answer.

Unfortunately, there's no way to stop the commentator's name from appearing. You can change what name appears by going to Tools - Options - General Tab - User Name Field.. you can make it a single space to have nothing appear but a colon.
I can't see a way to start a comment for multiple cells, but you could copy, highlight all the cells you need it to be in at once by holding ctrl as you click, then right click in any highlighted cell, paste special, comments.
