Any disc golfers out there?

Anyone else out there love this sport? I just got into it last year and I can't get enough. I got out last summer and fall about 3-4 times a week. Still no good at it but I'd like to think I'm getting better.

Best round so far was a +6.

Anyway, any others out there? How are your local courses and the disc golf scene in genereal where you are?

The course that I go to is pretty good. You can check it out here: http://members.shaw.ca/discgolf3/

disc golf is huge around here, (Grants Pass, OR) in a town of 20,000 or so people we have 3 permanent courses and a temporary traveling course. You can buy discs at the local convenience store, the video store has a huge selection of innova discs, sells bags, markers, even baskets. I played for a couple of years and really enjoyed it, however life happened and i just never got back into it.

I have dabbled in disc golf a little. I have a few discs and play when weather alllows (in central Illinois, that's not a lot). I pretty much suck, but we go out to have fun and we always do.

Hell yeah! Disc golf (though I usually call it 'frisbee golf' or 'frolf') kicks a lot of ass. I go out and play almost every day that I can, as long as the weather is cooperating. I've been playing since mid high school, so it's been about 5 years now. I live in Fort Collins, Colorado, home of Colorado State University, and there is beginning to be a pretty large following for it here. This is mostly because there is a 7 hole course right in the middle of campus. It used to be 18 way back in the day, was 9 for a long time, and then got reshrunk because of pedestrians getting hit by frisbees. Go figure. We do have a few other courses in town though, all of which are free, and one of which is used for nationally known tournaments.

I just love playing frolf because it's: fun and relaxing, gets you outside, you can bring your dog, you meet new people, it's fun to play while high, it's free, can help you get a summer tan, can be played barefoot, and a whole lot of other reasons that are too numerous to mention here.

A guy up here in Anchorage just bought some land nea a lake in a little city park area called Kincaid Park, he opening one up this summer, and there is one near westchester lagoon in Anchorage also.

Soon as my doc gives me the all clear ont his shoulder to start rehab and working out, I'll be trying it this summer.

Anyone know where to order frisbees for playing? No one up here sells them.

Innova and Discraft are two of the major brands to look for. Other than that, just look online and I'm sure there are plenty of sites you can order discs from. I've only ever bought two discs and I have about 15, so I guess I'm saying that after you buy one you're pretty much set, as long as the courses you play in have a lot of water hazards or trees for discs to get lost in.

*Edited to say that the going rate for a standard driver is about $7, unless you get Z-Plastic which doesn't scratch or dent, and those are usually about $15. Happy hunting!

I play a little. Im not great but it is pretty fun. Nearly all the discs I have I found out on the course so one should be plenty.
My town, in central Illinois has a good course and there is a league, even though I think it only has like 10 people.

All great things about disc golf or frolf or whatever else people call it. Though for the courses that I typically play on I would reccomend shoes.

Tonight is the start of a loval leauge around these parts. The leauge's running all summer, should be a good time. So far this year I was able to tie my personal best within the first 3 games of the year so hopefully I can improve on that over the summer.
