TFP NFL Tiebreaker Conundrum
I was going to do this as a poll but...
a) I'm too lazy and b) the Miami game is still on so I'm distracted! (Go 'fins!) But.....I've been thinking about the current way we have of breaking a tie-tiebreaker ???? Instead of using the "who posted first" theory I think that we are all big kids here and can just share first place. Seriously, we aren't talking about winning a pool in Vegas or anything! It's bragging rights more than anything, really, and I don't think anyone really cares that much about the fuzzy dice or t-shirt (although we do of course appreciate the offer!!). I would like to hear some ideas on this. We don't really have that many people playing the pool and the chances that this will come up again is fairly remote I would think. If anyone here is that competitive that they can't share a first place tie - tie then speak up .... all new ideas welcome. Otherwise - I would suggest that should this happen again (as in week 10) that we do what was done .... a shared victory! What's so wrong with that? My 2 pennies..... Did I say go 'fins?!

here is a simple solution. no doubling up of tiebreaker numbers. each person must have a unique # chosen for his/her tiebreaker. its not like we have more players than there are numbers. each person will be responsible for checking their number against everyone else who has already picked, to make sure that there is no repeat.
no repeated tiebreaker numbers means no final tie.

Okay, how about this, a secondary tie breaker that only counts if two people have the same number of correct picks and the same initial tiebreaker number. The secondary tiebreaker is choosing which team will have the most points scored for the week. This will only be used if the highest scoring people have the same tiebreaker number. If it's still a tie, fuck it, I'm flipping a coin.
Again, if anyone has any better ideas, feel free to make them in this thread or PM me about it.

You people are putting way, way to much thought into this.
For the record, I agree with Minx. Having two champs for the week should be better than having just one. If two people are able to get that close, they should both be rewarded. But if ya'll feel a sole winner must be crowned, I like spectre's idea. Or, what if you just gave the guy/gal with the most points the next week the nod? |

Keep on rolling. It only hurts for a little while.

Since my picks have been getting worse instead of better each week I don't think I'll ever have to deal with this myself. That said I don't see a problem with sharing the weekly title between 2 or more.
