Best baseball stadium
Just wanted to find out what baseball stadium everyone thinks is the best.
My vote: Wrigley Field. |
Royals (Kauffman) in KC. The Water Spectacular, the grass, the Gates BBQ.....hmmmmm
|
Tie, Fenway and Wrigley.
|
Wrigley...they have stainless steel troughs in the men's restrooms...can't beat that commitment to history...
|
I'll be at Wrigley next weekend, then I'll let you know...
|
Best new park, is the one who inspired the rest of the new ones
Camdem Yards. |
Safeco Field is a beautiful beautiful ball park.
|
minute maid park's the only one i've seen so i have to go w/ that one.
|
gotta love wrigley, any where there are stainless steel troughs, it has to be good. but Pac Bell is a beautiful park
|
Been to them all- Kaufmann is the best
|
Indianapolis' AAA team has an AWESOME field. The grounds are beautiful.
A close second would be Louisville Slugger Field in Louisville, KY. Another top notch field. Most major league parks suck imo. AAA is where its at. |
Of the stadiums I have been to (which does not include Wrigley), I would say Pac Bell. The stadium is both beautiful and quirky.
|
Tropicana Field - where else can you heckle a hitter from the outfield seats....and be heard by the hitter
Bank One Ballpark - amazing place Dodger Stadium - get there before the game and beat all of the traffic |

National: Wrigley Field
American: Kauffman Stadium |
Im gonna have to go with PacBell Park. it's placement + view + aesthetics =
|
I've seen in my life:
Bank One Ballpark Dodger Stadium Edison Field Qualcomm Stadium Network Associates Coliseum Pac Bell Park The best is Pac Bell. Pac Bell Park is simply stunning. Being right on the water with a view of the bay is cool. Also it kind of has a cozy feel. |
Been to:
Yankee Shea Kauffman (back when it was still Royals Stadium and had turf) Wrigley Old Comiskey New Comiskey (Fuck US Cellular) Busch Riverfront (Rest in pieces) Cleveland Municpal Stadium (The Mistake by the Lake) Tropicana Field And of all of those, I still say Yankee Stadium is the best place to watch a ballgame. Forget about the history, ambience, Monument Park, and all that for a minute. It's just a comfortable place to watch a game. The food is good, the fans are the most knowledgeable in the game, and you can be pretty sure your team will kick the crap out of the visitors. Next is Kauffman. Back when I visted in the early 90's it still had the astroturf field and I STILL thought it was the best park on my midwest trip. The bright red seats, the fountains, the awesome sunset over the outfield, and the friendliest ushers I've seen at ANY sports venue. Plus, right next door is another beautiful stadium. Arrowhead, and I love it when a city has two top-notch facilities sharing parking lots like that. I can only imagine how much nicer it is now that there's real grass on the field. The worst? Shea and Riverfront. I HATE those baseball/football combo stadiums and I'm glad there's only a few left. Busch at least has personality, rabid fan support (The fans wear more red than the players) and the arch that peeks over the top and is visible from most parts of the park. -Mikey |
i cant believe no one has mentioned PNC Park in Pittsburgh. It's downright beautiful. and what a great view of downtown Pittsburgh... downright majestic
PNC Park... remember it |
rrf- I've always thought the view at PNC Park looks awesome when watching the games on television, but I've never been there in person.
I'm actually considering taking an extended trip next summer and trying to visit every MLB ballpark in the league. Until then, I'll refrain from giving my opinion on the best stadium in baseball. |
I've been to most of the parks as a part of work (rough life, eh?), and I've got to say that I love Pac Bell. It really depends on what you're there for, though. If I want to just go watch a game, Yankee Stadium is great, even if they do let the DH and there are bunch of Yankee fans there. I just go to root for whoever the Yankees are playing, but that's me.
If I want to go for the experience, you just can't beat Wrigley in the summer. The bleachers are absolutely crazy, and if you can get seats down low on the lower deck in the sun, life can be very good. I've been to the past 7 Opening Days there, and I can wholeheartedly say that I'd just as soon be anywhere else until about the 4th, when I'm pretty much looped. Pac Bell has the best total package, and Dodger has the best food (although US Cellular in Chicago is pretty good, too. Try the funnel cake!), what with the Dodger Dogs and all. However, one of my all time favorites was the Riverside Pilot's stadium in Riverside, CA. I lived literally next door for a year and was there 4 times a week. Lots of fun, even if they committed more errors than a rookie trying to convinced Halx to reinstate the TB. |
I have to go with my home town stadium, Safeco Field.
The new Giants stadium is very cool as well, gotta love any park where a homerun goes into the water in the Bay. |
Wrigley gets my vote, hands down
The Ted (Turner Field) isn't bad either If we want to include non-existant stadiums, I'll throw Tiger Stadium into the mix as well. What a classic stadium with some amazing history. |
i cant believe only one person said Yankee Stadium....for me, its all about the history and leagacies of the game, and the House that Ruth built is #1
|
the Florida Marlins new retractable roof Stadium.....whenever they build the damn thing...
|
I have been to a few stadiums, and I think Yankee Stadium is definitely one of the best. You can't help but feel awe and admiration as soon as you walk in the House that Babe Built.
Camden Yards is great for families. |
I love Safeco field, It is a great stadium, also you can watch the pitchers really close up warm up, great food ,bars .
I recommend you check it out you would have fun. |
San Fran's park by far
|
I did most of the woodwork in Safeco Field, along with my coworkers. Thank you for saying it's beautiful, I'm kinda partial to it myself.
|
Dodger Stadium
A building frozen in time. |
pac bell on a foggy evening, home field advantage , oh yea...
|
Wrigley Field and Camden Yards would have to be my two favorites. Can't beat Boog's BBQ or the crab cakes at Camden Yards.
Although I've got to say that Yankee Stadium is still very impressive, if just for the history of it. Damn Yankees. :-) |
Pac Bell be the finest!
Wrigley the grand lady, just a special place! |
Wrigley !!!! sit in the bleachers
Fenway is second Pac Bell is only cool if you like wine and sushi at a ball game. Or you can go with the $8.50 beer while being around people who show up in the 2nd and leave by the 6th. been to: Wrigley Comisky ( I still call it that) Oakland Pac Bell Coors Minute Maid Miller Fenway Arlington |
Minute Maid Park in Houston
Turner Field in Atlanta |
As few as I have been to, I do have to vote Camden Yards.
|
Fenway gets my vote with Wrigley being a very close second.
|
Out of the four or five major league parks I've been to, Fenway would be my favorite. However, living in a AAA city, you couldn't ask for a sweeter ballpark than this one. Tickets for $5.00, sixteen oz. of beer for $2.50, and some nice ball being played as well. Rochester's Frontier Field, home to the Twins triple A team.

Can't like Rochester, since they let a few losing years get in the way of a 40+ year relationship with the Orioles.
Amusingly, the Ottawa Lynx, our new affilliate, are 4 games better then the Wings, and that low due to the call-ups of their best players. |
