OK, finally time for a little gloating.
Pan, we kicked your teams ASS. guccilvr - you too. I was just re-reading all your smack talk through this thread and you guys must be absolutlely sick after seeing your offense get suffocated by the Gators. I have to think the criticism that the writers are giving everyone involved would be worse than anything I could say. But.........(I couldn't say nothing) : Wonder why Urban Meyer lobbied so hard for his team to there? ANS. He knew how good his team was. (He coached at OSU, he knew he could beat them). All the other coaches are drinking the Big 10 kool-aid. He had to state his case as best he could. His kids deserved nothing less. Maybe Tressel knew too? Speaking of Tressel-his team deserved to be more prepared. For you guys who haven't watched every game I will tell you, the Gators did nothing different to OSU that they haven't done to everyone else all year. Spread offense, option, motion, reverses, be prepared, take what the defense gives you. Those are not gimmick plays, that is the offense. And unlike Boise State, the linemen are 6-4, 325 and the backs all run 4.4 forties. The whole Leak, Tebow platooning thing is a masterstroke. Meyer uses them like a two-headed monster, letting them both do what they do best. Tressel and his staff had 51 days to prepare. But I think they were too cocky to admit that anybody could play with them. Troy Smith deserved better. Tressel probably cost him millions. The coaches has absolutely no answers. There were no halftime adjustments to be made, only the bitterness of knowing that this beating was going to continue for 30 more minutes. Scored on 6 of 7 drives. Forget field position, that just kept us from making 80 yard drives instead of 60. Meyer said it after the game, 'you guys were all the inspiration we needed'. More ANALysts drinking the Big 10 kool-aid. Watching Eddie George before the game and then during halftime was priceless. Seeing Emmitt chomp him after the game while George blathered on was great. Oh, and as far as bandwagoning goes....I'm sure you didn't mean me??? I told you we were going to win the day after we beat Arkansas. Congratulations again.....Florida Gators 2007 National Champions..... Pan, BTW, the biggest winner of all was Vegas. 83% of all money bet was on the Acorns. Pan, BTW, the biggest winner of all was Vegas. 83% of all money bet was on the Acorns.

I watched a part of the game last night on Tivo since there wasn't anything else on, and I remembered why I told my wife on Ohio State's 3rd or 4th possession that Florida was going to win. The Gator's (just like most of the rest of the SEC) defensive ends were much faster than the OSU offensive line expected. They collapsed the pocket on almost every pass play. Smith got off a few shorter passes, but he only had a couple of chances in the first half to look anywhere farther than 5-7 yards deep.
The second half was just a seminar on why your defensive line and linebackers need to be as fast as possible. Other than possibly Penn State and maybe about half the Michigan group, no one in the big ten (they lost their right to capital letters after this bowl season) has speed in the non-secondary part of their defense. Every SEC team that's worth talking about (FL, GA, TN, AL, LSU, AU and maybe SC and AR) has very quick D-linemen and linebackers. Honestly, if I were a Texas fan, I'd be worried that the 'Horns didn't have better speed. And that, my friends, is one more reason that the SEC is the premier football conference in the country. Not to mention the fact that the big ten has only won 3 national championships in the last 30 years (OSU - 02, OSU - 98 [in 1 of 19 polls but I'll give it to them], MI - 97, MI - 85 [2 of 17 polls]). I didn't count Penn State until they joined the conference 1995 (for football), so none of those national championships get counted. As a comparison, the SEC had at least 12 that I counted quickly. There multiple champions in lots of years, but everyone got credit. In other words (and to repeat myself from an earlier post), suck it big ten.
