how long did you date before sex?
 

I'm curious as to how long people have been dating before they had sex.

Most of the girls i know have to date a long while before they feel comfortable having sex... I personally feel that sex can be enjoyed on a physical level and an emotional level. I prefer for it to be a hit on both levels. I like waiting until we're both comfortable. Around a month.

My first was maybe a week after we became a couple. My ex was 3 days. My current gf was around 2 weeks when I went down on her on the beach at 2am. She returned the favor and then some a few days later. ;)

My 'first' was a two-night stand. With my 'second', who is now my wife, we made it to 3rd base on our first date, but held off on sex for about 4 months (we were freshmen in college).

My first, happened the first night we were officially together, and he told me he loved me for the first time. I'm not conventional, what can i say. Lasted in and around 3 years.

I'd say, oh, around 25 minutes. It was basically the time it took for me to pick her up, drive to her place, and climb to her apartment.

2 years of dating with my wife. We are both happily married now and just felt comfortable at the time with not being in a rush.

To be honest, I'd have to say at least a month. At times I wish I could be that guy who just picks girls up and screws them the same day, but I never have been. I'm not sure if I lack the confidance to make a move so soon, or if I just need to know the person a little better and feel comfortable with them. There was a girl once, several years ago, that I met and we had oral sex a day later. Wow you sound like me and Dave...or the other way around...We met last september on a thursday and he very shortly had to go out of town for work, but when he came back to my house when he got back he never left :)

My girlfirend and I started making love three months after we started dating, that was two years ago.

Started dating... early 2001 -- getting married mid 2006 -- Not to way we are celebate in any way, but no sex until then.

I think about 2 hours give or take. That was after meeting face to face though, we had only talked on the computer for 3 months before that.

We waited about 8 months, and that was all me. Before, I'd always thought I'd wait even longer (though I seem to be a minority here :p ) but when it came right down to it... I just didn't want to wait anymore!

I think Will and I waited a week. But I was just so comfortable with him from the start that it wasn't really an issue and I felt like waiting any longer would just be waiting for the sake of waiting... I went with what felt natural.

With other boyfriends, it was never natural at all and I waited months before losing my virginity (technically) to my ex. And never had sex with my first boyfriend.

ya know, it's funny...if i wait longer than ab out a month, i never have sex wth that gf. my first was an exception bc we were virgins in highschool, so we waited three months. after that, it was either within a week or within a month. most of my first dates end up with someone getting naked, though

A Year and a Half

Holy shit, some of these replies are crazy.

It's been a year with my girlfriend and we haven't yet. Feels like soon though.

We have no such thing as "dates" in Denmark so I didn't "date" any of my boyfriends/fuck buddies before we had sex.

About two months I think.

Intresting question. We met on the internet, and corresponded by email for a month or so. Living two hours apart didn't help in the actual dating department. I went there once, she came here once, then we spent the weekend together in a third location. Guess that makes it 2 - 2 1/2 months. Technically, it was -1.5 months for ubertuber and I. If you count "dating" as the moment I told him I was interested, then it was about 15 minutes. 20, tops. (yak yak yak, ubertuber!) But then again, we'd known each other for several months and had been fairly close friends for a few weeks by that point. That was the best surprise sex ever, considering he had no idea I liked him about an hour earlier.
