Going in for a certain "male procedure" this week...
Going in to get "snipped" this week
This cartoon pretty much sums up how I feel about it. ![]() Any words of advice, encouragement, ridicule from those already "in the know?" Is it really going to be as bad as I'm fearing it will be? (Nice first post from a n00b, huh? ![]() |

You're in luck. I can tell you all about it. I just had it done about 6 weeks ago. No problem. It doesn't hurt much. The worst is when the doc pulls the vas out through the incision. At that point you will feel a tugging that is quite uncomfortable. He'll do that twice--once on each side. You'll have the feeling like you were kicked in the balls, but you'll get over it soon enough. At a certain point in the procedure I began to have a case of the cold sweats, but the wife was there to mop my face with a cold rag and to hold my hand.
My doc said he's had guys make a call in the middle of the surgery. They usually call a friend and say, "Hey dude, you'll never guess what I'm doing right now!" My doc also advised me to drink a few margaritas before coming in--just as a little something to take the edge off. My balls were really swollen. And black and blue. But within two weeks they were back to normal--still really swollen and black and blue. (the last part is a joke). Also, I regularly shave my balls, and I did it the night before. The doc said it wasn't necessary. Although he said I had done quite a good job. ![]()

Yeah, think about it carefully first as reversal is never guaranteed (I think it has about 50% success rate?)
But the procedure in my case was quick, simple and painless. Uncomfortable but Ive had far worse experiences at the hands of my dentist. Swollen and tender balls for about 24 hours was the only after-effect. Good luck ![]()

I went through this about 2 years ago. Heres my advice.
#1 Frozen peas are your best friend in the world They work the best out of everything I tried. They never get to cold, stay cold enough for some time but, most importantly they contour to your unit very easily. A very important feature. Keep them iced for several hours afterwards. I iced mine for about 5 then went off and on in half our intervals. #2 Dont do shit! I'm not kidding. If you dont want your sack the size of a cantalope sit your ass down and relax for two days. Movies, video games or TFP for you. You will be even more sore if you dont take it easy. (My brother in law didnt take it easy and went golfing. He was out of work for two more days to recover) Your sack will turn purple then almost black, mine did anyway. Then slowly clear up. All in all its really no biggie. Follow the advice above and your good. The needles do suck. I wont bullshit you on that, however it only lasts a few seconds then its numb. Oh yea. If your shaving your sack, hop in the shower and use baby oil. Best thing out there to use. I shaved for my surgery and keep it that way because my wife likes it. Good luck mate! The deed has been done. (I even had the benefit of a 3rd year, hottie, med student assisting my doctor.)
A few things... 1) It really doesn't hurt, but godDAMN it's uncomfortable as hell. 2) Frozen peas are king! 3) Don't try to mow the grass less than 48 hours afterwards. Thanks for the words of wisdom, y'all! ![]() |

When the doc says don't forget the ice, don't ignore him. It makes the drugs last longer, which is a good thing. Given that, the pain won't be too bad. Take it easy, watch TV, imagine the greatness of what you have accomplished- no more taking seriously what was poked in jest!!!

Once you get past the whole "They're cutting my sack!" thing, it's pretty tolerable. There's some discomfort from the shifting, pulling, pushing, and tugging. But overall it's pretty painless. |

had it done years ago...took very few pain pills... Lay around a few days wear a jock strap and everything will be OK. DONOT lift anything for a few days. He used a local anesthetic just a little discomfort, waited a few minutes... a few minutes later I was leaving... ALOT easier than a hernia repair

As said above
Make sure you have tight underwear or a jock and wear them for three or four days. Avoid walking on hard surfaces as much as possible (to avoid jarring). MAKE SURE YOU GET IT TESTED-- Mine grew back and I wound up with a second child --but that is another story. Good luck |

Okay guys, I got mine done on Friday, June 25th. So far, so good. There's a little tenderness but I've been taking it easy so theres very little swelling. I have a quarter sized bruise at the very top of my scrotum though. They suggested 7 days before intercourse but I tried it out, carefully, on Monday. I couldn't go hard enough to finish because of the tenderness but the wife took care of it orally. It's only been the one time so I can't say that I notice anything different. She said my stuff came out extra thick and clumpy though.
