where are my wet dreams?
I gave up masturbating for Lent this year. While I'm not catholic, I was just testing my will power. It took me less than a week to break it and have to start over again.
Lent is over. I'm still holding out. It has been more than 45 days since I've last masturbated or ejaculated, and I'm waiting for my wet dream. I'm pretty sure I used to have wet dreams when I was a lot younger. I am a 21 year old healthy male and, before this stint, I would masturbate almost every day. On average, I would masturbate twice each day. Now that I'm not masturbating, I'm wondering where it's all going. I've read that some people just don't get wet dreams. My question is, even after all this time? Anyone else ever try this? |

some things you realize you don't need after you've given them up...
I dunno about the wet dreams, I don't remember having any. Maybe since you aren't thinking about sex as much, your dreams reflect your mindset.

not everyone has wet dreams, alot of men will release the semen in their urine, so you may never have a wet dream, sorry to say.
on the other hand, an almost sure way to have one is to get super aroused by a girl / porn etc but dont ejaculate, then just go to sleep (alot harder than it sounds, no pun intended)

Old signature just wasn't doing it for me anymore, so now I have this new one. It's equally as stupid but at least it looks really long. I'm probably just going to keep typing until I run out of things to babble about and see how many people actually read this. I once ran down a hill, fell down and hurt my elbow; my mom said I would be ok, she kissed it and made it all better. I've run out of things to say now, so if you have read this whole thing, congratulations you get a gold star! |

I have only had one wet dream in my life, and after that one, I wished I would have more until I discovered masturbation. On a side note, at the time I thought I had invented masturbation because I had never heard of andyone doing it before. Damn ultra-sheltered conservative upbringing. Ah, puberty...I sure as hell am glad we only have to go through that once.

(ok quite honestly, this thought went through my head "i wonder if sperm 'expire'... ie. If you do'nt ejaculate for a long time, does it just sort of build up, hmm, if you do get to ejaculate, is it still active... gah, my naivity is astounding sometimes, as is the stupid thoughts i think of)... btw, i'm mighty impressed you've gone for over 45 days without getting off, fuck i couldn't do it for longer than a week or two!

You don't really need to ejaculate....as much fun as it is.
Sperm die. Some of it is re-absorbed and re-used the rest is flushed out. My understanding is some guys have "wet dreams" some guys don't. I, myself, have never had a wet dream and I was just as hot and bothered during puberty as all my friends, of which only a few ever admitted to having a wet dream. Good luck on abstaining. You are a better man than I.

Never had one. A few guys have them in their teens, and from what I've told, almost none occur after that.
I did have a "dry" dream a few months ago. I'm in my 40s. I was half awake one morning, just coming out of the edge of sleep, no dreams -- and my brain let loose with an orgasm. No physical signs or stimulation, no erection; but then sex is all in the brain, they say, and I felt the big charge all through my body. Sure wish I could do that at will! Kind of reminded me of the Orgasmatron from Woody Allen's "Sleeper." Has never happed again, unfortunately. |

From what I have heard, your sperm production scales to your sperm use. So, if you don't use your sperm, you don't produce as much.
Qu, have you tried inducing the wet dream, instead of just waiting for it? Go to sleep thinking interesting thoughts, and see what happens?

Oh well, you cant be a crazy kid for the rest of your life so wave buh bye to those wet dreams.
But the biggest factor is probably your sleep habits. If you dont get enough sleep or not any regulated sleep hbits then it will throw off your dream periods and deep sleep periods and until you can regulate that then dont even think about getting wet dreams. Go to bed the same time every night and get about 7 hours (plus or minus 1 hour) of sleep, even on weekends. That throws most people off. |
