Erotic Love Letters : How to write one
My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I wanted to do a scavenger hunt for him that ends with him finding me in a fancy hotel room and me dressed up in sexy lingerie with champagne on ice. I wanted his last clue to be an erotic love letter, but I'm having trouble writing one. Any ideas? Or perhaps any one want to write me one? The steamier the better. I want him raring to go when he opens the door and sees me on the bed.

I'd suggest checking out an erotic fiction website for inspiration. I dabble in writing erotic fiction, personally. One thing I didn't realize....it's REALLY hard to do well! It requires putting into words something that isn't necessarily a cognitive process. When I'm gettin' down, I don't think, "OK, put your leg here, do this, say that."
As far as actual advice goes...for a letter, I would describe your favorite experiences with him rather than describing what's going to happen once he gets in the room. (no one wants to feel pressured to work off a game plan, LOL) Tell him what curls your toes...and what you love doing to him. Keep it simple--don't get bogged down in euphemism or excessive schmaltz. If you need more specific advice, feel free to holler.

Reading it will help you figure out how to put the words together; as Saby said, it's not easy to put down on paper at first blush. I also dabble in writing smut. You might try having a glass of wine before you start writing; I find that helps my, erm, creative process.

literotica is quite good. Also: Swingers Stories on Swingers Story Board ( Mods, please delete if I have misunderstood and cannot post link...) has a pretty good selection once in a while of swinger stories, just depending on how graphic you might want to make it, sometimes the descriptions are decent.

Heh, a picture of you wearing said lingerie with a treasure map should suffice if you remain tongue tied.

Open love letter with a tender salutation. Instead of “Dear Sirs” or “To Whom It May Concern” use “my dearest" ____ and be sure to use the name of the person right. Remind him what he means to you and Let him know you appreciate him.

Read some highly rated stuff on Literotica to get an idea of what style of writing turns you on, and more importantly read some crap so you get a good idea of what not to do. You have to strike a balance between not being descriptive enough and sounding like Charles Dickens writing "Dear Penthouse" letters. Describe one of your best experiences with him in explicit detail, get him reminiscing about it, and let him know that you'll be waiting in bed for him getting yourself worked up thinking about it. Drop hints about what you're going to do to him or what you expect him to do to you, especially if you're planning something out of the ordinary.

Having written some myself (years ago) that received some appreciative feedback, I will agree it's very hard to do well. Writing non-erotic fiction for publication is actually easier, IMO. Part of the problem is to make the flow of the story seem normal or believable without getting stilted or boring. Losing your audience's "attention" is definitely a killer during an erotic story. I would suggest that you focus on describing what arouses him most about a situation, using as plain a description as you can. The hotness of a story is measured in it's effect, not its literary quality.
