That's it. I deleted 85 gigs of porn from the computer. the damn dog must have put it there. Actually my attachment to porn has long been unhealthy. It takes time from my life and my wife. Spending 5 to probably 15 hours a week chasing porn and jerking off was and is ridiculous. A good healthy wank is ok, but this was too much. So I have cleaned out my computer, and trying a little wank-free experiment, for a little mental toughening.
One of my favorite authors is Neal Stephenson. In his book Cryptonomicon, one of his characters forgoes masturbating for a while. He figured that Victorian oppression was one of the reasons Victorian men were so tough, and did things like go exploring in Africa. So here is to a little self-denial and focusing of the mind.

I found myself doing the same a while ago, though it was not nearly of that size and volume, nor was it really per se porn, but artistic nudes that I came across and photographer friends' sent my way.

I find I am getting more in touch with my creative side, in music, art and physical activity with less of a hold being on me by having a storage of porn on my laptop(not much space for it anyway ).

I am actually going on a little sojourn, so in addition to foregoing the handy-habit, I will also be relenting basic commodities that are afforded to most. It is best to revisit reality for a realization of what is really going on in one's life, so here is to your small epiphany.

I save everything I download. Why, because I worry that someday the government or ISPs will clamp down on everything or just hardcore stuff. Or the Internet won't be anonymous anymore. I would never download porn at work where my idenity is known, I wouldn't be able to do it if my ISP knew who I was (I don't have a monthly fee ISP ).

I measure my collection in terabytes though. I think it is around .4 - .5 TB right now.

I agree. Probably 95% of the porn I see doesn't do it for me, so if I find something I like, I keep it.

I do spend an awful amount of time culling it, though. I also got up to about 80GB's worth, then made a rule - for every gig of new stuff I download; I've got to delete a gig of old stuff. Most of it is full-length movies I need to put on CDs.

After all, even good porn loses its usefulness after a certain number of viewings.
