The Man who Knew
Perhaps not the right board, but did anyone see this on Frontline?
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontl...ows/knew/view/ TAlk about frustrating - if my co-worker weren't sitting next to me, I'd have to watch it now. |

It is a long way through the nine segments of this tape - it should be required viewing for everyone who posts on this board. I don't know how people feel about the source but the individuals in the tapes are well documented. I spent many years in law enforcement and learned, very early, that the less you have to do with the FBI the better off everyone is - bureaucracy and red tape have always been their first priority. Louis Freeh should never have been placed in charge of the agency and it went rapidly down hill after that. Far too often in our past we've seen this happen - too many political appointees ruling the roost over law enforcement agencies and having the protection of their own turf as their number one priority. I don't know what happened to the bitch that was Ambassador to Yemen - I can only hope that she is unemployed and on the State Departments black list of do not call for any reason.
There is a lesson in this that a lot of ultra-liberals really need to take a serious look at - to see where the position they defend at all costs took this country to and what the end result was, and will be again if we don't get our heads out of our collective asses.

As I was saying, the "ultra-liberals" are no or more less inane than the "neo-conservatives". I completely agree with your statement: Quote:
http://www.google.com/search?q=bush+...&start=10&sa=N I'm sure a search on Clinton appointees would have looked the same. Is the government now a less bureaucratic or more efficient place now that Bush has people in charge? Unlikely. While the Patriot act removed a tiny amount of red tape for law enforcement, it fundamentally failed to make any deep changes in the way any of these agencies operates. Anyway, LD, you and I pretty much agree on your points, I just think blaming everything on "ultra-liberals" is a mistake. Edit: I just re-watched segment 8, where it talks about the fact that the Bush administration ignored a June 2001 briefing warning about the threat of Al-Quaeda and Osama Bin Laden. I'm still baffled by your "ultra-liberal" comment and where you are coming from. Last edited by HarmlessRabbit; 10-31-2003 at 10:45 PM.. |
