The war in Burma
There is a hidden war in Burma, a campaign of ethnic cleansing against the Karen people which live in the north.
In the last 10 years 3000 villages were destroyed, people were killed or forced to flee into the jungle. Burma is a military dictatorship, the opponents of the regime are killed. Here is a video, you can see the government army burning villages and killing all the people they find women and children included. Also they place land mines everywhere, one was placed in front of someone's house. There are lots of refugees who live in the jungle and they cannot return to their villages because the army could come back anytime. They formed an army against the government, and also the video shows medics the "Free Burma Rangers" who travel and take care of the refugees http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-YVdpQHdqo Here is a video about the "army of the child god", also in Burma http://www.insightnewstv.com/c59/ This is proof that the war in Iraq or "the war on terror" which does nothing but produces more terrorists is fake, and it is a war for economic reasons - it's very normal : for every Iraqi killed his friends and family may become terrorists Why doesn't US go into Burma and end that regime ? Maybe because there is nothing there, and for sure there is no oil USA goes to war for oil, the US army is used by greedy corporations just for that. If in the process it happens to remove some dictator, and "liberate" some people it's just good for public relations

Pai, there are conflicts such as this all over the world. A few of them in our own hemisphere.
It is a terrible thing that such things happen but I have to say that your views on this matter are a little simplistic. Sadly, we cannot defend everyone. Acts such as those by the Burmese government truly are terrorist in nature but endanger Americans very little. While the ties between the war in Iraq and the war on terror may be strenuous actions in places such as Afghanistan have hindered the terrorists ability for offensive actions. It would be a better world if we had the resources to end all such atrocities, or even if a strenghthened UN could deal with them. Unfortunately, we haven't arrived at that point yet and as calous as it seems we have to look after ourselves first. As in the removal of the Taliban.

I do not want the US to go into Burma-Myanmar, just to stop lying everyone about the "war for freedom", including the US army. It's a war for the big corporations, and the US army is used. There are people who if you tell them anything else than the official doctrine get very upset

And some people get upset when they hear the "official doctrine" no matter what it states.
How is the current conflict a war for big corporations. What corporations benefitted by the invasion of Afghanistan?

Iraq tried in 2000 to sell oil for euros. The invasion stoped that ideea, which would have caused the dollar to loose a lot of value. Those corporations which supply the army. They thought : go to Iraq, bomb it all, then make a lot of money by rebuilding it.
The military industrial complex Eisenhower talked about exists. I could give a lot of links to documentaries, try "Why we fight" on google video

But I asked about Afghanistan.
I never argued that the oil supply had nothing to do with Iraq but I think it was only a piece of the puzzle. How would companies that supply bombs, bullets, and such benefit from the rebuilding of Iraq?

There is no doubt (in my mind) that the military industrial complex is alive and well and coming soon to a theater near you. The basic problem is that the worlds population is increasing at an exponetial rate and there simply arent enough natural resources to go around. More & more wars will be fought over natural resources such as oil, food, even water. Soon all the idealogical conflicts will all give way to resource conflicts, or they already are resource conflicts disguised as ethnic cleansing or religous wars. Whatever you prefer to call it, the world is getting smaller every day.
