The Palistinian vote and Iraq

I was just thinking about the reasons the Palistinians chose to vote in a radical extremist group into power. The only thing I can think of is this. The Palistinians feel oppressed and under occupation and the only people that seem to be fighting against these occupiers is Hammas. Thus Hammas is seen as in many of their eyes as the only chance of freedom from occupation. The reason i'm bringing this up is because we have a very real chance of the same thing happening in Iraq in a few years. As the population slowly gets more and more fed up and feel more and more that the US is occupying them instead of liberating them they will turn twoard people who are fighting against the US. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. This could lead to another anti-US government in the middle east. Here is the questions I'd like to discuss.

1) Do you think this is a valid posibility?
2) If so what can we do to prevent it?
3) If such an election occurs what options do the US government have?

1)It is not only a possibility, but a probability.

2)We can prevent it by giving the rebuilding contracts to Iraqi companies and training our soldiers that there is a differnce between stopping an insurgent with a gun and opening fire into a building full of civilians. It'd also be nice to help get their food, water, and electrical (Iraq is one big rolling blackout right now) industries up and running. Instead of lining the pockets of Halliburton investors, we should invest the money in actually developing Iraq. It'd also be nice to get some independant media there, in order to slow or even stop the propoganda from both muslim extreemists, and impearialist capitolists (the two greatest enemies of Iraq right now).

3)If this election happens, we should come home and think about what we did.

Stay true to our values. Protect our interests. Defend our liberty.

1. It is always a possibility, being an optimist and seeing progress there, I think we are going in the right direction as time goes on we will scale back our presence.

2. If any opposition to our interests comes up, threatening what we've done so far, threatening future progress for where we need to be, put it down hard and fast. Work hard to speed up the process of self reliance, get the Iraqi security forces functional so they can quell shit fast.

3. If such a thing as a 'Hamas Victory' in Iraq happens, well, we are screwed.
