The Palistinian vote and Iraq
I was just thinking about the reasons the Palistinians chose to vote in a radical extremist group into power. The only thing I can think of is this. The Palistinians feel oppressed and under occupation and the only people that seem to be fighting against these occupiers is Hammas. Thus Hammas is seen as in many of their eyes as the only chance of freedom from occupation. The reason i'm bringing this up is because we have a very real chance of the same thing happening in Iraq in a few years. As the population slowly gets more and more fed up and feel more and more that the US is occupying them instead of liberating them they will turn twoard people who are fighting against the US. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. This could lead to another anti-US government in the middle east. Here is the questions I'd like to discuss.
1) Do you think this is a valid posibility?
2) If so what can we do to prevent it?
3) If such an election occurs what options do the US government have?
