Took some pics in the woods today.

There is a nice state park near my house. We haven't taken advantage of it like we should, but I took the beast out there yesterday and today and got some good shots.

This was yesterday.

See my pup in the bottom right of the first pic?

Now look just above and left center in the pic.

Here is a better view.

She let him get about half that far away before she took off.

Here is another doe that was watching him. She was pretty good sized.

And a few other random pics I snapped while we were out there.

This is his "Where's Waldo?" impression.

Last night and today we got some snow, so I took him back out today and got more pics.

Doing his 'Scarface' impression.

He absolutely loves sticks, they are his next favorite thing to food and treats.

Look closely at the background:

Hai guise.

Also, while I'm spamming the board with him, here are some YT videos I took yesterday.

Err, sorry about that, my pic host usually automatically resizes pics down to a reasonable manner.

Let me see if I can fix it.

I absolutely love coloring of the nature in winter. It is so scarce. Your dog blends in very well. :P

Not really. The deer are very used to people and dogs in that park. His breed isn't a hunter by nature, so he doesn't have a strong prey drive. Most of the time he would just watch them, or he'd walk towards them like he was hoping they'd stick around and play. They are so tame that they'd usually let him get 30-40 yards away before they'd take off, and even then they wouldn't run very far. A couple times he chased them, but I'd call him back after 80-100 yards at most. He isn't fast enough to catch them through all the brush, and I honestly think he was wanting them to play (he loves to wrestle with other big dogs), not looking at them as something to attack. He does the same thing with rabbits in the yard. He'll watch them, then try to walk over with his tail wagging hoping to check them out. Obviously they don't stick around to let him.

Here are a few more I grabbed today. This guy watched us for a good 4-5 minutes. My dog didn't even realize he was there, and played like a goofball oblivious to the deer 80 yards away. The buck was intent on Stanley, and when Stanley finally wandered close enough, all three took off for 100 yards or so.

Regardless, it was fun and beautiful to watch them.

Thanks guys.

Here are a few more from tonight. You can only see about 30-40% of the herd that was in that yard in these pics. They were scattered everywhere, and there were quite a few further over that rise. By the time I got to where I could see them, they had taken off for the treeline on the right.

At the exit to the park is a subdivision, and these three does were right in someone's front yard. If you look closely in the background, you can see the shapes of many more deer in the backyard of the house. I simply cannot believe home many deer were back there behind this house, and the next 9-10 houses down the road. It looked like a livestock farm, I bet there were close to 70 deer altogether, it seemed like each house had almost a dozen.

Cool. I love Mastiff's... their personalities, their mannerisms. I have a four year old English Mastiff (we think, he's a rescue, so his exact breeding is sketchy). He looks very similar to yours.
