My midnight urban adventures - Seattle

what happens when you stay at work for 4 more hours than you're scheduled? you go "oh crap, it's midnight" and start walking home

Seattle is definitely not the city that "never" sleeps.

I think it was snoozing quite nicely.

God I miss Seattle. Thanks for bringing me 'home' again.

Ditto. Especially the shot of the skyscrapers... one of my favorite parts of driving home from the airport is taking I-5 north through downtown, and seeing those familiar buildings around me again.

I will forever call that building the Columbia Seafirst Center. I don't care if they ditched the Seafirst a long time ago.

My family always had an annual tradition of going to the Top of the Hilton for Mother's Day brunch when I was a kid. The best part about it was getting to see all of the skyscrapers of Seattle from a different perspective. It's also why I love the ferry ride across the Sound, or getting a peek of the skyline from the beach at Illahee.

Also, does anyone else get all nostalgic when they see a picture of Mt. Rainier? Every time I go visit my folks, seeing that mountain just gets me.

I get nostalgic when I see any picture of anything from Seattle, the Pacific Northwest, or Hwy 1/101 down through California in general.

Have taken any pictures of the Freemont Troll?

For those who have never seen it that is a real Volkswagen under his hand.

I was born downtown and have been stamped with a Seattle gene that requires I return often. It's something like the return of salmon to spawn, without the bad ending.

Nice pics, Shauk, and I can sympathize with missing the last ride home. I'm not up for the swim, though.

Couldn't be any more truer. Except for I wasn't born here. I had no idea how much I'd miss Seattle when I decided to move to Cali. I'm so glad I'm back now.
